Nirvana was an American rock band that was formed by singer/guitarist Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. Nirvana went through a succession of drummers, the longest-lasting being Dave Grohl, who joined the band in 1990.

In the late 1980s Nirvana established itself as part of the Seattle grunge scene, releasing its first album Bleach for the independent record label Sub Pop in 1989. The band eventually came to develop a sound that relied on dynamic contrasts, often between quiet verses and loud, heavy choruses.

After signing to major label DGC Records, Nirvana found unexpected success with "Smells Like Teen Spirit", the first single from the band's second album Nevermind (1991). Nirvana's sudden success widely popularized alternative rock as a whole, and as the band's frontman Cobain found himself referred to in the media as the "spokesman of a generation", with Nirvana being considered the "flagship band" of Generation X. Nirvana's third studio album In Utero (1993), challenged the group's audience, featuring an abrasive, less-mainstream sound.

Nirvana's brief run ended following the death of Kurt Cobain in 1994, but various posthumous releases have been issued since, overseen by Novoselic, Grohl, and Cobain's widow Courtney Love. Since its debut, the band has sold over 25 million albums in the United States alone, and 50 million albums worldwide. 




In early 1994, the band embarked on a European tour. In Rome, on the morning of March 4, Cobain's wife, Courtney Love, found Cobain unconscious in their hotel room and he was rushed to the hospital. A doctor from the hospital told a press conference that Cobain had reacted to a combination of prescription Rohypnol and alcohol. The rest of the tour was cancelled, including a planned leg in the UK. In the ensuing weeks, Cobain's heroin addiction resurfaced. An intervention was organized, and Cobain was convinced to admit himself into drug rehabilitation. After less than a week in rehabilitation, Cobain climbed over the wall of the facility and took a plane back to Seattle. A week later, on Friday, April 8, 1994, Cobain was found dead of a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head at his Seattle home.

Thanks to the media, especially the print media to inform me in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of "Nevermind.". Therefore, here is my chance to tell you a story of this famous rock band, Nirvana and their second greatest album, Nevermind.

Nevermind is the second studio album by the American rock band Nirvana, released on September 24, 1991. Produced by Butch Vig, Nevermind was the group's first release on DGC Records.

Frontman and song writer of the band, Kurt Cobain sought to make rock music alive more than ever, influencing from groups such as the Pixies and their use of song volume dynamics.

Despite low commercial expectations by the band and its record label, Nevermind became a surprise success in late 1991, largely due to the popularity of its first single, "Smells Like Teen Spirit". By January 1992, it had replaced Michael Jackson's album Dangerous at number one on the Billboard charts.

I found back my articles about diet and health when I worked as a personal trainer at Fitness first, these are the few most interesting facts I found:

Facts for Food:

1. By not eating regularly throughout the whole day, you would risk disrupting your blood sugar and insulin levels which will promote fat storage and lower your metabolism which ultimately leads to weight gain, consume healthy snacks every four hours and never starve yourself.

2. Unless it is whole grain, only the bread will consider as healthy, else it might just not be the healthiest bread around.

3. Many people think fruit juices are good. Fruit juices are concentrated sources of sugar that do not provide same nutrients from whole fruits.

4. Do not assume the product is healthy based on the fact or it put it names that sound healthy, read the label!

5. Counting calories is not the way it is to maintain a healthy diet. What you should be watching out is how the way the food was cooked: go for steamed, boiled, double boiled, baked, or light fried. Food that kills your health are, food which are fried, deep fried, and the more flavorings’ it was, you have already what cause the killing of health , right?

6. More water, vegetables, fiber, grains, proteins (white meat like fish or chicken) must be included into your daily food intake.


7. Cut down on carbohydrates, giving an excuse, saying that we have no energy so we must eat more carbo is not a good way of such thought.

8. Less red meats, seafood, egg yolks, salty food, rice, starches, canned food, instant noodles

Facts for Health:

1. Nutrition is not all about food, is more about how your body utilizes the food. This is when exercise comes in to play important part to maintain high metabolic rate to burn consumed food effectively. Try to fit in exercise regime in your time. If you miss out one session, find some time to do a little exercise still. Avoid doubling your exercise session due to one missed session.

2. Medical checkup every year is needed to understand your body better. You do not want end up realized you have disease or a serious illness, and was informed a short period to live on. Practice a habit to be cautious. Remember one thing: what you eat now will refer you to the next 30 years of the condition of your health.


3. Supplement for body is needed as for replacement of what we losses. Bear in mind, many people say no to supplements because they thought they are eating healthy food and their bodies are absorbing what they ate, it is not true. It is either absorbs part of what you ate, or it will wash off to the toilet bowl. But then, not everyone can digest one supplement if they are too concentrated and not every supplement works for your body. You need to try and observe the difference to see whether the supplement works on you or not.

1. Stretching is extremely important for our body, despite doing it every day, it is essential to do it before and after exercise. Failure to do so will end up chances of getting stroke or muscle cramp easily.

Malabar Palace, The Best Taste of Indian Cuisine


 
  When people heard of Indian food, first thing they will think will be: oh my god, super spicy hot curry! Well, time to change your mind and concept though. I was part of the thoughts because we always end up at Mamak, mostly known as authentic Malaysian Tamil Muslim cuisine, where the food is pork free or halal. Mamak the word was also created at Malaysia, amazing? Mamak was well known at Kuala Lumpur, because it operates 24 hours daily, and yet the food is cheap, you can eat a pita or bread and drink a glass of caffeine drink using three ringgit Malaysia I would say, but of course, we ourselves already know, the food was mostly unhealthy and fattening.

Then, not long ago, few years back, we have new creation of authentic south Indian food, where the marketing plan will be – to serve the Indian food on banana leaves. It runs business similar to Mamak, but if you noticed carefully, most of the Indian restaurant do not runs 24 hours like mamak does. If compared with the spices, I would say southern Indian food is not too bad though.

So, now here goes the third category, where I believe, more and more people want to change the thought and mindset of Malaysian towards Indian food. Some people who understand the aroma and the real food ingredients with recipes from Indian start to come in and explore the Malaysia market. After understanding the taste bits of the Malaysian, they combine the cuisine from India and Malaysia, and guess what? You will be shocked in how remarkable the taste will be.

Spicy? Not really. Fattening? No. Unhealthy? Not at all when you know more about the food.



  So what is it? Everyone curious to know. Come over to this very young chef, Chef Shinith’s restaurant –Malabar Palace. What makes it is like a palace? Mostly you feel like eating like a king or a queen. Even some VIP came over to check out the palace, so would you give yourself a chance to experience the good food around? Not to mention it is near to university, this palace is a place where it will be so busy yet serve you good food with good service, and of course good smile.

As for the price, I would say not too pricey to get such a good food, but I know everyone wanted to know the price, but I cannot tell you till you try it by yourself, because you will totally into the dream of delicious food, and paying for it, you will tell yourself, money come and go, but this food, goes in and make my life happy!

When you heard someone said this statement, “Cooking is my passion and love is my secret ingredient”, you are talking one fine young Indian chef who won countless food competition, Chef Shinith Palolathil.

Know more about

Born in the year of 1981 at Kerala, India, his dream to become a chef was known in the chef’s family. Chef is a Malayali Hindu. Tradition and cultures in the family make him even eager to know more about the food in his culture.

Chef has never give up on getting the knowledge of the spices, herbs and the concept of “food as medicine and medicine as food”. He applies what he known on his hand, and a new creation combination of traditional with the modern food recipes, and from India to other countries of the world, his magical hands work out a food, such food where you can hardly describe by writing, where you feel the tenderness of the soft meat and mixes of spices coming after your tasting session.


Start to hit the road of his life

At the age of 18, Chef Shinith Palolathil attended training on nutrition in order to enhance his knowledge of the human body and it nutritional needs, and getting more working experiences at big hotels at India. Back in the year of 2002, Shinith Palolathil has been start working by being a consultant for nutrition at Indus Valley Ayurvedic Centre, Nutrition Centre, Mysore, India. Few years make him even more productive at few schools, and helping out operating restaurants.

Chef knew he wanted something more and also different. Hence, born the interest of his towards bakery. 3 years learning the art of bakery pay his hard work, as later on he travelled to Dubai to work as a recognized chef in the National Automatic Bakery and Fast Food, Dubai.

He was connected to the land of Malaysia


Chef Shinith Palolathil has been in Malaysia since 2005 and it has been a home for him. He works for many hotels like Mandarin Oriental and Shangri-La Hotel, our well known Bombay’s Palace, and finally landed in Malabar Palace and applies his recipes at Aroma too.

His success of his career as a chef was amazing. Chef Shinith Palolathil made no mistake by jumping into Mandarin Oriental Hotel as Head Chef (Indian Cuisine) and has also acted as consultant to several restaurants serving Fine Dining Indian Cuisine.

In May 2010, he challenges himself by operating his own restaurant. Together with several other shareholders we Incorporated AJ Gemilang Sdn. Bhd., chef and few partners opened the very first restaurant, Malabar Palace in June 2010 which was a success. More info at:

As an executive chef, Chef Shinith Palolathil has been fulfilling his dreams in expanding his food business and at the same time, made the Indian Cuisine even more popular with his new creation of recipes.

Time passes but it did not allow him to stop. He won the award of silver medal in Philippine culinary cup 2011. Right now, chef is being the top 3 runners up for the Asian Food Channel contest 2011, out of 1000 chefs from Asia! Way to go, chef! So everyone, please support him.

What we can see during Deepavali:-

1. Blessing- Yellow or purple angpow packet with some dollar notes inside to be given to the children or the unmarried people.

2. Clothes - the Hindus will be wearing their traditional Indian costumes, most of them will be wearing new clothes like pretty Saree with amazing silk work; men might be putting on just the casual clothes.

3. Family gatherings- Laughter of the kids, the reunion and gathering of the families.

4. Food - Smell of curry and hot spices will be coming out from the houses.

You know why I will fall in love with Annalakshmi? Very simple: - we pay on our own will with any amount of money, we give out the money generously, no stress on who is going to pay the bill and the food is really good.

You might have doubts, pay at any amount after eating so much, or maybe the decoration of the restaurant is so nice till you cannot believe this is what people said?

Believe it or not, it is true, and the service is very good, but of course please wear tidy clothes and not too casual. You will sure love the place!
