Sungai gabai waterfall Hulu Langat - natural water slide
20 Aug 2020 -
I have did some research to find family friendly and some waterfall where we can reach within entrance or a short walk for a cool dip. And the waterfall needs to be suitable for young kids too.
So the final lists (if I'm not wrong) are:
1) Chamang, Pahang (waterfall upon entrance but far)
2) Sg Gabai (natural waterfall slide)
3) kemensah (can't c the waterfall from photos , more to a still water stream)
4) serendah (together with orang asli kampong, after rawang)
5) Sg congkak (a still water pond)
6) kanching, templer, rawang (waterfall upon entrance)
Upon entrance, a 5 mins walk and you will reach 1st stop of the waterfall. Its low stream, more for young kids to play around. The water length reach toddler knee area.
2nd waterfall stop, you have walk up well maintained stairs in between 15-20 mins. You may choose to wear sandals so long there is a grip.
At here, this is where we get to enjoy the natural waterfall slides.
My kid was so excited but I need to hug him to ensure he didn't drowned upon landing. As you slide down, an average tall adult should be standing and the water level is till shoulder part (165cm) therefore, If younger kids want to slide down, better if there is someone below to receive the kid, or an adult slides down together with the kid.
The waterfall bottom was full of different sizes of rocks and you have to step it to go up for the slide. Of course there are places where it's mainly sands where you can stand. But be careful, cause one slip might make you get a cut at your foot by those rocks.
What I really hate is so many people bring big packet of food and drinks and just overloaded the dustbin near the waterfall. Aren't they conscious those rubbish might just end up causing leptospirosis? If you can bring so many food up, bring your own big black dustbin bag and learn to throw the rubbish at the ground level.
Sighed.... People just don't care.
Oh by the way, I didnt know 1 hour cool dipping can make me so tired by not doing much things though.

And finally we decided to go for Gabai because it has waterfall slide, and it's still considered within klang valley area. (worried of traffic jam if away from kl).
Sg Gabai is managed by the kampong community. Noting that all these nature trials or outdoor activities seem to have paid tickets instead of free and easy style back then.
Of course, we understand the basic maintenance keeping up the surrounding is important.
We were charged RM1 per headcount by a macai overseeing all the transport coming through. you can see there is a hp number, but well, hopefully they didnt change the person in charge!

We need drive such a small road of 2km but it looks like 1 way road more than 2 ways road. See how's both cars just got stuck?
