Melaka River Cruise - Heritage and Culture River Cruise

Day 2 28 Oct 2019 -  There was a few melaka River cruise counter nearby, and we choose the nearest counter near to the Royal Malaysian customs department museum. Its quite tricky cause we didn't know behind the customs. Museum has such a big parking, and we were busy finding public parking area.

Night was a chaotic queue, hence we opt for the day river cruise. We do not know which jetty we huh the tickets though, should be the melaka rover square jetty. Ticket price is around rm25 for adults, and kids at rm15.

A 45 minutes ride with lots of mural art on the walls, historic bridges and a sneak peak of the kampong mortem.

The captain ensures the passenger safety and turn on the auto speaking tour guide audio as he drives you pass by each destination.

First glance was many interesting cultural and modern contemporary mural arts behind the shop or residential small shop houses can be seen. I do wish there is a street art tour or self explain art tour for each wall art.

The river art project along Bandar Hilir River was started in 2012,after penang gain fame from Ernest zacharevic, the Lithuanian artist painted the Georgetown mural art. Before Ernest, graffiti art is illegal. After Ernest, Street art make a bloom as tourist business, then its legal. I wouldn't know about the backlane Street art if I didn't take the river cruise.

So walking at the backlane and seeing the busy street at the front are giving me a totally diffirent point of views of sightseeing.

Historical bridges such as tan Kim Seng Bridge, Chan koon cheng Bridge, kg jawa Bridge, pasar Bridge, old bus station Bridge, hang jebat Bridge.

Kampong morten, the oldest traditional malay village that also houses the villa sentosa, the oldest traditional house in the village.

Villa sentosa that owned by a private resident, offer free Saturday walking guide within the kampong morten, where he relies on free will donations by the tourists who join the walking tour.

You can choose to stay and experience some traditional malay culture, whole check out the historical belongings in the village museum, the villa sentosa, the apple green paint with the malay rooftop architecture design. All house and roof are in red, which I'm amaze the villagers try their best to keep the village houses in good condition.
