27-28 Oct 2019: So as a busy parent, it is a record-breaking moment as husband finally agreed to go for a family trip, also because our big kiddo keeps saying he wants to go for a retreat!

And off we go to Melaka trip from KL, as early as 8am, with a 2 hours journey, we arrive at the Melaka city.

MARITIME MUSEUM

First thing we do is park near the city and explore the maritime museum to see the history of all the warriors, cannons, ships... The ship is purposely built eh or was it from the ancient time?

Actually, I know the answer, just hope to have some historical ancient ship in the modern days!

34m-high, 36m-long and eight-metre-wide of Flor de la Mar, a Portuguese ship. As everyone knows, Melaka is a mixed conquer during the colonial times, namely: the Malacca Sultanate, Portuguese, Dutch and British administration era. Melaka is one of the main port in Malaysia for many tradings business during the olden days. It was a thrill to explore this real size ship.

Do you know who is this almighty? Surprisingly I can't find this museum website nor Facebook Page for full info of the museum.

The trading times, I saw onions, spices, etc.

The cool ships miniature can be seen.

Seems very critical when the Malayans warrior fight during the olden days, as you can see from the painting.

Bastion Middleburg

The building of a bastion, known as Middleburg was carried out by the Dutch in 1660. also was meant to keep the cannon guns.

I name here as the houses in RED. Cause everything is in red.

So we just head up stairs and watch the panaroma views of the whole terracotta red colonial Dutch buildings (1660-1700)... Err did the government refurbish or rebuild the buildings? Cause it is so cool to keep unesco historical buildings as they were...

1)Stadthuys with its high windows,
2)Dutch christ church, Malaysia oldest protestant Church, where bricks were imported from Holland during the Dutch colony time.
3) tang beng Swee clock tower 1886

Life is full of wonderful trishaws, lol.

ST. PAUL'S CHURCH

From a church, later became a fortress. Then later became a gunpowder storehouse. A temporary tomb for St Francis xavier. A St Francis xavier statue. We also notice a few Dutch graveyards near to the St Paul's Church.

In the interior, there was a few engraved tombstones of the Dutch nobility.

Porta De Santiago (A Famosa Fortress)
Heading down from St Paul's Church is the port de Santiago (a famosa fortress) in 1511.
The oldest European architectural in Asia. 😲
