These 9 gods are sons of dou mu, North star goddess who hold the life death registrar.

night bazaar, selling all kinds of prayers, street food, boba tea, smelly tofu, let's bird out from cage 放生.

lots of beggar Kings, and when is the main show happening?




Now you know why it keeps raining, cause the nine god emperor festival... Believe it or not.. Every year during the festival, 100% it rains, as the nine gods land to the earth using waterways. 



Only men are allowed for the walking on fire ritual (get rid bad luck)

Interestingly, those who walk on fire will also have to go on strict vegetarian for 15 days, so that their feet do not get burnt and their body and souls are cleaner as a vegetarian.

A long bamboo pole with a lantern/nine oil lamps can be seen as a direction for the 'gods' for the ceremony.

In the temple, you can donate some token and 'borrow' some luck by getting an angpow at RM 1 only.

By the way, I come all the way for the smelly tofu though, the middle store smelly tofu.

I am not sure where can I get information for the whole ritual program. I guess you need to ask the temple straightaway days or weeks before the actual week of the festival.

24 Sept 2020 - Everyone go gaga with 'hainam' and 冰室 as the coffeeshop names nowadays. Actually hainam is also the same as cham. Here is the menu, expensive or cheap? I am not sure why there is a hype naming the coffeeshop 冰室 cause the chinese words are more towards Hong Kong style. The neighbors were talking about this new hainam tea coffeeshop at Yulek. So, I went to try this siham sambal petai char keoy teow priced at rm9. What do you think of this combination? Good taste or merely for bring unique and viral? For me, the petai couldnt fit in together with the CKT. BUT, the belacan is so freshly done and very spicy. The cook didnt use the normal belacan paste (dark red color). On the wok hei part, the plate of char keoy teow taste is blanch though. As for the coffee, I personally think their hainam coffee taste nicer than hainam tea. The hainam tea was tasteless on this day, but my 1st visit ordering hainam coffee is good.
