9 Vines Festival by Dionysus Asia - The Longest Monthly Wine Festival

30 Sept 2018 - I was excited to get to know the Ampang neighborhood will be the first area to host the 9 Vine festival, which also the first wine festival organized by Dionysus Asia.

So all the canopies are ready to set up for today's wine marathon event.

So all you need to was to pay a 9 vine wine glass RM10 as the deposit, as you go around to taste and see which wine is your favourite and you gonna bring back home.

So why is it called 9 Vine Festival? These was because Dionysus Asia offers more than 80 kinds of wines from the top 9 wineries, that are:

Participating Wineries:
  1. Casa vinicola Sartori (Italy)
  2. Rockcliffe (Australia)
  3. Boschendal (South Africa)
  4. Heartland Wines Australia
  5. Balduzzi Wines (Chile)
  6. Vallformosa Cava Spain
  7. Château Bertinerie (France)
  8. Glaetzer (Australia)
  9. Stanley Estates NZ (New Zealand)

Had a chance to meet the famous Singaporean veteran mixologist Jeff Ho (何满圆), where Jeff showcased the "Flavour Genius" of DA VINCI Gourmet Malaysia (DVG), combining craft, science and art to provide an amazing palette of flavours that empower cocktail drink a masterpiece.

Jeff did mix a local tropical refreshing cocktail for me on that day.

Have this 2015 Sartori di Verona L'Appassione Rosso delle Venezie IGT, Italy, at Sapore Ampang booth.

Award: International Wine Challenge, 2018: Bronze
Notes Indicative blend: 50% Corvina, 25% Corvinone, 20% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Ah, the Veneto town giving me the crisp, light ocean wine tasting.

You know, being in Malaysian, where wine and art painting was not a strong homegrown culture topic. Wine is more towards sophisticated and a drinking trend at here.

Although people are starting to get more into 'understanding' all the wine tasting notes, level, and how to enjoy wine bit by bit, I will still enjoy drinking wine by 'love at first taste'.

I spoke to one of my wine bar's friend, and he says, just go such way, since you are firm to your senses.

True enough, I confirm that I personally love medium-bodied wine and if I saw the word PINOT NOIR, I will go crazy.

So, I come across boschendal South AFrica wine - CAP CLASSIQUE collection - GRANDE CUVÉE BRUT vintage 2013.

Fresh green apple, citrus, almond biscotti and brioche, pinot noir grapes lift up this sparkling wine
style. The full minerality and enriched mouthfeel simply offer a very wonderful taste bud experience.

Last but not least, someone told me this is the exclusive collection. Chile - Balduzzi 2013 B Estate Bottled Cabernet Sauvignon-Carmenère (Maule Valley).

Crisp and toasty in the beginning, followed by the wood spice and lightly herbal berry fruits as finishing. It was a unique wine tasting experience for me. A combination of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Carmenère. Oh Okay, so I am a fan of Cabernet Sauvignon too!

9 Vines Festival is the first wine festival held by Dionysus Asia, one of the leading wine suppliers in Malaysia. Looking forward to the next wine festival in town!
