Chili's, sunway velocity - big food portion, free-flow, happy hour

24 Nov 2017 - Chilli's opened its doors at sunway velocity last month. From the reservation attendant at the door step till the waiter who serve us all the food, I would say they are helpful, cheerful and trying at their best to be attentive. Basically chilli's is famous with big portion of food starting at rm20 - 30. Buy 1 main course, free 1 kid's meal. Some examples as per below for kids free meals.


happy hour before 8pm during weekdays - beer at 20-30% off, selected cocktails rm5 off...freeflow soft drinks.



Offer free coloring with one simple crayon folded in the coloring paper for kids to settle down (but it's impossible for my kid to do so)
Too much choices on the menu, and we don't know what to choose, young staff couldn't solve my dilemma in choosing the dish too (he says all also nice, didn't really recommend) 



end up with Signature bites platter: signature wings (but they serve us spicy drumlets), cheesy balls. Their fried tempura flour was splendid, crunchy and so delicious. tempting tempting....


Mexican food, anyone? the giant quesadilla with lots of cheese and big onions (surpringly, why big sweet onions? This, I don't understand.



Cheesy penne pasta. Anyone? Oh yeah, looks dry right? more to cheeses and chilli flakes...hmmm....





Drinks - Margareta (twice top up from the blue shaker), as in you can enjoy Margareta x 3 glasses, so worth it!
Bloody Mary but just average for me. 

Serving time was fast, 15 mins, but turned out most our dishes are cheesy and fried stuff. Now you tell me, unhealthy or greedy? Or did I miss out, what are the food I must order at Chili's?

24 Sept 2020 - Everyone go gaga with 'hainam' and 冰室 as the coffeeshop names nowadays. Actually hainam is also the same as cham. Here is the menu, expensive or cheap? I am not sure why there is a hype naming the coffeeshop 冰室 cause the chinese words are more towards Hong Kong style. The neighbors were talking about this new hainam tea coffeeshop at Yulek. So, I went to try this siham sambal petai char keoy teow priced at rm9. What do you think of this combination? Good taste or merely for bring unique and viral? For me, the petai couldnt fit in together with the CKT. BUT, the belacan is so freshly done and very spicy. The cook didnt use the normal belacan paste (dark red color). On the wok hei part, the plate of char keoy teow taste is blanch though. As for the coffee, I personally think their hainam coffee taste nicer than hainam tea. The hainam tea was tasteless on this day, but my 1st visit ordering hainam coffee is good.
