CNY Party 2016 @ Marini's on 57

18 Feb 2016 - I was invited by a friendly staff from Marini's to join their CNY party. Wow, it has been a while since I got to party!




I took my bestie, Celine Ong with me.




See the special lou sang? And it has a M signage with raw salmons, some dry biscuits, vegetables and crispy biscuits, proudly done by the kitchen staff.



So we were in the bar area, where we get to enjoy unlimited drinks and alcohols for the CNY party by their award-winning mixologists at the bar.



Most of the guests are special VIPs, expats, guests and I believe the regular customers in their data base were in the list as well. Most of the staffs would be able to greet and welcome the VIPs and special guests promptly.

And here comes the lion dance, where it will bring you good luck, fortune and prosperity. We believe by touching the lion's head, or to get the mandarin from the lion, we will get good fortune.








Oops, caught the god of fortune, choy san to take selfie with us. We got some lucky golden chocolate from him too.




2 glasses of red wine and white wine, lucky mandarin from the lion, and golden chocolate from the god of fortune, and here is the smile sign :D




And then, we ordered some special pasta of the day, given we didn't take up any dinner when we arrive.

Super duper delicious, both spaghetti and linguine, serves with fully exploded sauce, tomatoes and fishes. Simple yet full, so tasty!




Thanks chef and the friendly professional team and staff from Marini's on 57, it really made my day, and oh yeah, I was tipsy on that day, given that I forego my stress and worries on that lovely day!

RESTORAN CHAN HAINAM KOPITIAM 赞记海南冰 yulek cheras - petai char keoy teow, hainam coffee

24 Sept 2020 - Everyone go gaga with 'hainam' and 冰室 as the coffeeshop names nowadays. Actually hainam is also the same as cham. Here is the menu, expensive or cheap? I am not sure why there is a hype naming the coffeeshop 冰室 cause the chinese words are more towards Hong Kong style. The neighbors were talking about this new hainam tea coffeeshop at Yulek. So, I went to try this siham sambal petai char keoy teow priced at rm9. What do you think of this combination? Good taste or merely for bring unique and viral? For me, the petai couldnt fit in together with the CKT. BUT, the belacan is so freshly done and very spicy. The cook didnt use the normal belacan paste (dark red color). On the wok hei part, the plate of char keoy teow taste is blanch though. As for the coffee, I personally think their hainam coffee taste nicer than hainam tea. The hainam tea was tasteless on this day, but my 1st visit ordering hainam coffee is good.
