12th Anniversary Party at Zouk Club KL
31 March 2016 - What a great date to end the marvellous March. As I am a Zouk member, and although I rarely go to Zouk, they still send a cool stylish invitation card to me for their 12th Anniversary Party.
It is written "A bold architectural statement with influences of extraordinary design that underlines the legacy of a global club brand with a lavish spent of RM38-million, Zouk KL is the most lavish nightspot to be developed in Malaysia."

It consists of 11 venues – Zouk Main Room; Zouk Cafe Bar; Beer Garden; Phuture; Velvet Underground; Apex Lounge; Ace; Members’ Lounge; Imperial; Glass Box; and Balcony Deck. However, different songs with different ambience being played in all 11 venues. You need to call if you want to know which area is the best for you.
Although their invitation card is with 3D hologram viewing, I didn't try it out. I am always amazed with zouk invitation cards design. always amuse me.
We reached at 915pm, where everyone was chilling out in the open courtyard area. Noticed TREC is full of restaurant, bistro and other pubs, just like Changkat.
We registered for the entry, and we were informed by the receptionist that free flow is available only from 9-10pm. Hmm, makes our night slightly moody with such T and C. And then, we receive the golden zipped pouch with white earphones and a Zouk T-shirt. Both of us are wearing evening party dress with mini pouch. How on earth are we gonna bring the goodies along in the club? Probably something sleek, small, yet stylish as goodies next time? Not that we complain, we really can't bring it along or purposely putting back the items to the car.
We did not have our dinner, you know ladies take longer time for makeup, and we gotta skip dinner. We ordered Zouk cafe crunchy popcorn chicken and I must say, it is really really good and fantastic. Make me think that it's far better than KFC ones. although staff recommended seafood pasta, I opt for the carbonara vegetarian pasta. Sighed, should have know creamy pasta doesn't go along with the alcohol. Make me feel so bloated. Yet, the creamy vegetarian pasta is tempting and delicious.
All of the members are taking a bottle of Heineken, vodka mix or whiskey mix. Heineken beer is all good, but the mix? Well, you get to taste sweetness and water more than the liquor.
Some of the event programs are dance performance with the dancers dress up from the future, 3D motion graphic gambit, champagne toast with Mr Cher Ng, who was a Singaporean DJ under the moniker- DJ Cher. He is the co-founder and executive director of Zouk Kuala Lumpur and TREC. Wow, such a great work done by Cher Ng. All the hard work from a DJ to an entrepreneur. Way to go!
And congrats to Zouk Club KL being ranked as number #26 club in the 2016 DJ MAG TOP 100 CLUBS in the world.
Last year in 2015, Zouk was ranked at #38, a massive climb up to the ranking!

and massive fireworks and poppers give a loud celebration. Night clubs laser lights always give us fantasy. Adding on the pump up music by world DJ, and a drink in your hand, dance on the floor...wow...simply awesome. forego all the stress and here you all at Zouk KL!
The party continues inside the club. My favourite is always Velvet, giving you lots of latest R and B music. My second choice would be Phuture, but Phuture is way back in the 90s kinda R and B music. Worse, I cannot feel the air validation in Phuture at all. So sad.
My girlfriend, Abby ordered a glass of whiskey mix in Phuture bar. However, it's a big let down, as it tasted just like the freeflow drinks we had, and she paid for it. I told her alcohol will be good only if we ordered the whole bottle of it, instead of asking them to mix, except wine or beer pint I guess.
The occasion wasn't right for wine drinking, we head off to Marini's on 57 after leaving Zouk at 1130pm.
Overall, it was a good party, just some little tiny problems here and there.
