A plus nasi lemak @ 28 boulevard, Pandan Perdana lake

Are you game for some local Malaysia nasi lemak with Pedas giler sambal? We tried this new outlet named A plus nasi lemak, where they have few branches in kepong and setapak area.

By the way, I feel its quite chic with the ambience. They have tables and chairs in bronze material, simple chic wallpaper. Part of their tables side are made of sewing machine wheel set up.

Now they opened a new branch just right next to pandan perdana lake.

As for their coffee, it's merely from the coffee powder, hence, it is average.

1) chicken chop mushroom sauce, French fries, white rice. The boneless chicken thigh was a juicy tender version, and less pepperish KFC chicken. I believe the mushrooms was Minced into pieces. I'm not sure when we have French fries, why there is rice to be served, cause both are carbs.

2) the sizzling plate curry mutton rice was aromatic definitely, as it was served sizzling hot, to be something different rather than just same plate of plain nasi lemak.

However, the mutton was not soft tender. If they do slow cooking, I think it will be nicer.

3) we tried the bamboo seafood rice. Basically what they did is they put the ready rice, seafood ingredients, curry sauce all inside the bamboo, and steam the bamboo rice for 20 minutes.

The bamboo rice color was different from the menu photo though. I thought it will be very spicy, but it's still okay, given to that it has been cooked into nasi kukus, softer rice banjir with seafood and light curry sauce.

4) but the game changer is their sambal belacan. Be very careful on their portion. You can taste the spicy fiery Sambal belacan which consists of red fresh chilies, belacan (Malaysian shrimp paste), calamansi lime (limau kasturi), and sweet onions. Oily for me though, but just with just a very small portion of sambal. You will be screaming your lungs out, tongue and stomach will be burning time after time. Seems like this big bowl of white rice ain't not enough. We drank so many glasses of iced drink and the fire keep burning. Gosh!

So if you are not picky, you can also hop on to the next door steamboat buffet or the porky cafe that serves simple coffee, cakes, simple hot food.

A slow walk at Pandan perdana lake Park may lead you to the shoplots. If it's a cold jight weather, sometimes the fnb staff will. Place some tables and chairs at outdoor near to the lake.
