Quick fun facts about Phuket Thailand by the locals

Some fun facts shared by my Phuket tour guide and also a Thailand local: 1) In the month of may - low peak tourist/holiday season. slight wind, cooler low season, rain, sea condition unpredictable and rough, cut off sea sports, recommended going coral Island 15 mins from Phuket... Ideal for sea sports, but be careful with unreasonable locals who might cheat you for the water sports transport damage by asking you to sign some Thailand agreement. 2) statistics - 10.6 million tourist in 2018 for Phuket alone 3)Nov till April is the peak holiday season for tourist. 4) Keep passport in the hotel, don't bring out or else your passport most likely will be stolen. You can choose to colour photocopy and bring along just in case there is some identification needed. 5) don't go the beach at night they mostly have some drug activities. 6)Jet ski- be careful with local, check before use, read the agreement carefully, cause they might just frame you on jetski damage on purpose.

Kam kee wan Chai road 金记冰室湾仔

Image
8 July 2019 - Hong Kong breakfast set is so big 😳 kam kee at wan Chai gives you a more comfortable space, air conditioning environment, bright orange with hanging light bulbs deco. Started since 1967. So I Googled and seems that kam kee is a franchise or many outlets retail concept.  One breakfast set comprising of one bowl of big noodles, one toast butter bread, 2 eggs/sausages. Then add on milk tea, yin Yong, or coffee. You need to like evaporated milk for milk tea. Unlike in Malaysia, we have both condensed and evaporated milk as option for our caffeine drinks. Hotel staff recommends kam kee 金记冰室 for quick breakfast with good reviews. Hong Kong people serves crystal mee hoon, and for me, slightly bigger portion than kl portion. All soup base served super hot. And they serve your breakfast within 1 minute upon your order, so everything was pre cooked earlier, and just preheat when you order. The sausage was slightly sweet

Koyote bar wan Chai - Mexican bar

Image
7 July 2019 - a 15 minutes walk towards wan Chai is the whole bar street. A small bar street fulls of Philippines and 'expats' instead... Some bars are full with girls and some are just the quiet chill outs hangout places for drinkers.  Decided to stop by coyote and ordered draught beer.  The nachos was too much for a small group of people Munching on the tortilla chips. End up didn't finish, yet coyote signature is their nachos. Waiter passed us the bill without us asking for bill... So we don't know she did that...as they closed at later like 2am.. Cause is it such a rush culture  to call us off? Or scared we might not pay the bill? Question marks... www.jesonestop.blogspot.com

Canal Road flyover - prayers and market scene

Image
7 July 2019 - Open market selling fresh food still operates from morning till evening times.. And I notice many Muslim people (probably Indonesians) having picnic under the flyover.  The best part is I saw all these god  prayers writing 问神,打小人...wonder how they make money and whether the locals still seek such help from all these 神婆...not a common scene from Hong Kong movies.. Not even ghost movies, haha! I asked the uncle taxi driver.. Here not popular with driver app loke uber or grab, cause the taxi licensing companies are big mafia players! If you launch personal driver app, most probably sure kinda lose phase at here.. Meaning to say the old school taxis still using taxi telephone or you can just take taxi anywhere conveniently.. Not sure will get cheated or not, haha! www.jesonestop.blogspot.com

Kong Chai kee 江仔记 - wonton noodles, homemade fishball

Image
7 July 2019 - Speak Cantonese speak till 舌头都打结了.. Haha.. Omg the weather in June at here... Humid like Malaysia, and it will rain out of the sudden, and stop next minute, and then rain back.. So prepare going out with an umbrella at least. So ask for receptionist for local food of course...to have a good hot bowl of big prawn dumpling wonton mee, home made fish ball noodles will be at this Kong Chai kee. Serving portion is a very good stomach filling. Serving you very hot soup and their chilli oil, don't you look down on their homemade chilli oil, cause the 🌶 is so spicy!  I believe their soup base is using pork bones and Anchovies at least... In Chinese, we call the soup taste 轻甜,but it doesn't mean sweet but a good Broth.  The wonton mee is thin and freshly made, unlike those kl yellow noodle with the preservatives smell. For their springy wonton noodles, Hong Kong wins. But for their hor fun/keoy teow, Ipoh and Thailand still the champions. Of course, for iced milk tea, the

Butterfly on Morrison, causeway Bay hong kong

Image
7 July 2019 - for butterfly on Morrison is a boutique hotel in Hong Kong.  Superior room with butterflies ribbon on pillows, a small yet practical usage to have all the hotel space you need... Bed, TV, coffee set, shower area, basin, toiletries area, safety lock, wardrobe, safety box. So basically butterfly on Morriston doesn't have breakfast, but the amazing thing is you can purchase portable WiFi, instead of you buying sim card with data roaming... Quite a good idea. Actually when we reached the hotel.... You can't tell it's a hotel building, due to its dark color of the building.  But then, upon stepping in, a welcoming hospitality and the aromatic scent throughout the lobby area makes you feel comfortable as you stay here.

1st business flight - malindo Airlines

Image
7 July 2019 - Hong Kong business trip.... Haven't plan anything at all! 😂😂😂 This is very bad for a lost sheep like me to travel! BTW, business class seat at malindo. Bigger leg placing, wider seats, and better hospitality from stewardess by offering non stop on drinks, newspapers, etc. For me, sleeping on flight seats are still the same. Was thinking I might have a flat bed chairing style.  A refreshing lunch meal good enough for you in these 3 hours flight journey. Tasty baked buns, salad, a rice set, unlimited drinks and alcohols. And surprisingly, their dark chocolate cake is very nicely done.  Oh, small malindo plane has no TV for 3 hours flight. We were but unlucky as it was very congested in klia causing 2 hours delay of departure. For this, pilots and stewardess apologise on the delay.
