Chui Lau Sinn 厨留鲜 Maluri - Aunty Helen Hokkien Mee (Original from Jalan Alor)



28 Sept 2018 - Chui lau sinn at Maluri. Aunty helen has been frying good hokkien noodles at Jalan alor for 40 years. Now she decided to expands her second outlet at maluri. It is really hard to get a good Hokkien noodles nowadays. 


Was happy to have this crispy kungfu ying yong noodles. Egg gravy sauce, pork meats, well balanced vegetables, and finally deep fried mee hoon where most people don't fry it nowadays! However, the keoy teow portion was little. Not a balanced portion of each noodle type. 




Next was it's hokkien noodle. Very high heat wok hei, and thumbs up for its black soy sauce base for the Hokkien noodles. Although I didn't show the hokkien noodles at here, we came for the hokkien noodle second trip n one plate was not enough. Very aromatic, delicious and real Hokkien noodles taste. Again, we ask for mix Keoy teow and thick yellow mee. Yet, keoy teow was only 20% of the mixture. 

I'm not sure why probably aunty helen don't want us do many pattern - just stick to one type of noodle! Lol

I quite like their moonlight river 月光河 (raw egg in the middle of ho fun), but not as good as the hokkien noodle. 

Recommend also their smoked duck very thin, juicy, melts in the mouth. 




Sambal paste finely blended. Sweet spicy yet perfectly blended.
However, average on loh mee.





Thumbs up for their smoked duck breast as well.

Well, if you dont really want to stuck in Jalan Alor food stalls and the busy crowd, why not come over to enjoy a good plate of Aunty Helen Hokkien Mee. They still operate their stall at Jalan Alor, but Aunty Helen now cook at Maluri and wait till their business is more stable.
