蜀國印象 ·火锅 Shuguo Yinxiang Restaurant - Authentic China Steamboat/ Hotpot

1 Aug 2018 - The last I have tried china hotpot steamboat was probably in a steamboat shop at Puteri, Puchong. I don’t feel good about china steamboat, as the Ma La 麻辣 sauce.

The soup wasn’t nice yet I ate the peppercorn by accident, making my whole tongue numb and feel uneasy after that. This incident was few years back in 2009 when they first started the ma la china cuisine in KL.

So when I was invited to china steamboat again, I was bit sceptical. Worried I had the bad food experience as per before.

Ivlyn took me and my aunt to this restaurant in Sunway Velocity by the name of 蜀國印象 ·火锅Shuguo Yinxiang Restaurant.

We do come to Sunway Velocity quite often, just that we always opt for those F&B outlets located inside the shopping centre. Little did I know that they offer so many restaurants and bars at the outdoor area on first floor – mamak, china food, Meja bar, Korean bar, to name a few.

We were there at 830pm, bear in mind, it is still crowded in the weekdays! I told the waiter I am fine sitting outside since it was a cool rainy day.

The set up, needless to mention, looks like China restaurant, decorated with traditional long bench, wooden square table, chinese lanterns, china Interior design architecture etc.

I noticed there is quite a lot of China people coming here to enjoy the china steamboat. Likewise, if it doesn’t befit the local origin China taste, they wont be coming to here. So I believe they are making authentic China steamboat hotpot.



Signature dishes: mixed soup pot - Pork Bone Tomato soup and its Ma Lat Soup. Mala sauce is a popular oily, spicy, and numbing Chinese sauce which consists of Sichuanese peppercorn, chili pepper and various spices simmered with oil.



Next, we order their homemade meatball platter - Homemade Meat Balls, quail eggs, mini pork ball. Their meatballs are extra large with bursting juice and fillings in it. I had to chew carefully as the first bite has the bursting juice factor, and it was a 'hot' satisfaction!

I was shocked to know that Ivlyn loves special inner organs, she ordered Pig blood curd, pork kidney and duck tongue. @@

You know those kinda feelings where you always reject these kinda internal organs when you order a bowl of pork noodles soup/ pork pepper soup? The reason why we always reject is that they are pungent with a strong smell of blood.

To my surprise, the internal organs in this steamboat restaurant are so fresh, smooth, QQ, springy, and no blood smell at all. Totally different from what we had outside. Their supplier must be giving good quality of internal organs.

KL's first "china talents’ performance theme hot pot restaurant" is at Sunway Velocity Cheras.
Every night, there will be the China ‘Face changing’ and tea performances as you dine in at ShuGuo Yin Xiang. It’s so cool to watch the face-changing skills from Sichuan, China.


Here, the main spicy hot pot is cooked with a variety of spices imported from Sichuan. The soup is fragrant, spicy yet numb to the tongue if you bite on the SiChuan peppercorn by accident!

If you can't eat spicy food, you can choose pork bone soup, and the soup is tasty.

There are many choices of pot materials, especially from China are:
1) 大刀鲜毛肚 Fresh beef tribe

2) 手切牛键肉 beef tendons

3) 猪五花肉片pork belly slices

4) 极品鲜鸭肠Duck intestine

5) 玉兔鳝鱼 Asian Eel

6) 手工虾滑 Prawn Paste



There are also 24 kinds of sauces to match with you.

3 ladies, 2 kids, we are still unable to finish everything. We spent RM200 for the whole set. Considered not bad if you aren’t choosy. I noticed that their platter is fixed to one standard size, there is no S,M,L platter size. The portion is served as per plate as you can see. I suggest you come I group if you crave for various hot pot choices.

Services wise isn’t that bad. The staff attended to me and my messy kids as attentive as possible.
