The Top Penang @ Komtar - dinosaurs Park, Sky Deck, theme park

23 March 2018 - check in late and half day gone, most museums, park or food court probably closed at this time. What do we do? We head over to the top@ Komtar where we hunt for Penang food.




Market food street offers all Penang hawker food - char Keoy teow, rojak pasembur (Indian rojak with potatoes), pai tee, popiah, wantan mee, local Penang coffee, and many more. Offer you indoor air conditioning area with hawker stall food court set up 10am - 10pm.I personally love the gao gao penang iced coffee (ordered 2nd time). 




You can also get to see miniature Penang state gallery, durian shop and many more. 
Komtar is the tallest building in penang and mostly consist of government offices. In 2016, OWG CEO tan Sri Richard koh gave an uplift look on the retained government building. Don't judge the book by its cover.




There are 13 places for you to explore in the revamp the top @ komtar... More worth it if you take the whole day fun pass. Having promotion right now at rm78. 



Level 68 at its highest, stand on a see through glass floor, as the bird eye view of the whole city of Penang. Jurassic world is the largest and permanent dinosaurs park In Malaysia. The sky view and dinosaurs park are their signatures. 13 places for kids entertainments theme park and some quick adult indoor theme park.



Some cool candle wax celebrity figurine across the celebrity avenue. Grand business meeting rooms, and they just launched the exclusive the top membership to access to the sky lounge, cigar lounge, and many other privileges. The 20 years membership priced at rm10k is all worth it for a luxury lifestyle enjoyment for the locals.
The daily fun pass is good for family who want to spend one whole day just to be here without traveling much. But as it was raining and as I run out of time, we couldn't try out the top sky deck view and dinosaurs park as the team raise safety concern over the storm weather conditions, as both have outdoor area. Otherwise, I believe it will be a memorable experience for me and the kids.



It is an honor to get to enjoy a sky dining with tan Sri Richard koh, and puan Sri jean koh.

Sky dining at the top, I'm feeling easy as it is a casual family dining atmosphere at the top Komtar. At least dress well but I can come with my kids to enjoy sky dining meal. (most sky top f&b in Kl is fine dining Or bar concept, not family friendly)

As you are spoilt with food choices of hot food, fresh seafood, crabs, local Penang hawker food, desserts, satay and so much more. Evening buffet is available every Friday, Sat, Sun. Otherwise, they serve you ala carte menu.


There is multi parking entrance to go to the top, best is the parking opposite post office. Kindly drive to post office George town to get into the parking.

RESTORAN CHAN HAINAM KOPITIAM 赞记海南冰 yulek cheras - petai char keoy teow, hainam coffee

24 Sept 2020 - Everyone go gaga with 'hainam' and 冰室 as the coffeeshop names nowadays. Actually hainam is also the same as cham. Here is the menu, expensive or cheap? I am not sure why there is a hype naming the coffeeshop 冰室 cause the chinese words are more towards Hong Kong style. The neighbors were talking about this new hainam tea coffeeshop at Yulek. So, I went to try this siham sambal petai char keoy teow priced at rm9. What do you think of this combination? Good taste or merely for bring unique and viral? For me, the petai couldnt fit in together with the CKT. BUT, the belacan is so freshly done and very spicy. The cook didnt use the normal belacan paste (dark red color). On the wok hei part, the plate of char keoy teow taste is blanch though. As for the coffee, I personally think their hainam coffee taste nicer than hainam tea. The hainam tea was tasteless on this day, but my 1st visit ordering hainam coffee is good.
