4 Feb 2018 - CNY gathering at Sam You PJ. A surprise as all their spicy and appetizing dishes meet up their standards. Crispy spicy prawns, Assam fish, even the fried vegetables are very delicious.



where is your pork belly?

The only dish is the stir fried pork belly 三层肉 where I hardly find any of the pork belly or taste much as it is. Also, we went there for CNY lunch but the items are not fresh or tasty, I guess chef skills and food ingredients supply are really important in a restaurant, as I can give two different reviews based on one pre CNY and another during CNY. The key is how to keep the freshness of your supply even though it's a public holiday and food supplier balik kampong.

24 Sept 2020 - Everyone go gaga with 'hainam' and 冰室 as the coffeeshop names nowadays. Actually hainam is also the same as cham. Here is the menu, expensive or cheap? I am not sure why there is a hype naming the coffeeshop 冰室 cause the chinese words are more towards Hong Kong style. The neighbors were talking about this new hainam tea coffeeshop at Yulek. So, I went to try this siham sambal petai char keoy teow priced at rm9. What do you think of this combination? Good taste or merely for bring unique and viral? For me, the petai couldnt fit in together with the CKT. BUT, the belacan is so freshly done and very spicy. The cook didnt use the normal belacan paste (dark red color). On the wok hei part, the plate of char keoy teow taste is blanch though. As for the coffee, I personally think their hainam coffee taste nicer than hainam tea. The hainam tea was tasteless on this day, but my 1st visit ordering hainam coffee is good.
