Velocity Cafe, Ampang - Bicycle Themed Cafe and Signature Waffle

5 Jan 2016 - I was hunting down for some nice cozy cafe in Ampang, as there's not really much good cafes in Ampang. Google Map recommends me to Velocity Cafe, Ampang. After checking out the reviews, I was assured at least this would be a nice cafe to hang out.



Welcome! Ordered cappuccino and their fresh fruit juice of the day. That is the menu you are seeing, the spiral ring menu with white cover. Erm, I don't know what does 'Sean Kelly' though.




The cafe is decorated with bicycles, given thoughts that it needs a theme for people to remember Velocity is a bicycle-themed cafe. You can see they are going to basic style, with the classic wooden tables and steel chairs. Now I check out their Facebook, only to realize they do sell bicycles, support local cycling activities, and owns a bicycle workshop as well. Owners must be falling in love with cycling!




A small bar area for the staff to prepare drinks.






It seems they are promoting waffle, so waffle is a must at here. Velocity Waffle D'Espresso. Crispy, fragrant waffle with New Zealand ice cream and banana, drizzled with espresso sauce and topped with home-roasted nuts. Yes, definitely recommend if you crave for waffle!

24 Sept 2020 - Everyone go gaga with 'hainam' and 冰室 as the coffeeshop names nowadays. Actually hainam is also the same as cham. Here is the menu, expensive or cheap? I am not sure why there is a hype naming the coffeeshop 冰室 cause the chinese words are more towards Hong Kong style. The neighbors were talking about this new hainam tea coffeeshop at Yulek. So, I went to try this siham sambal petai char keoy teow priced at rm9. What do you think of this combination? Good taste or merely for bring unique and viral? For me, the petai couldnt fit in together with the CKT. BUT, the belacan is so freshly done and very spicy. The cook didnt use the normal belacan paste (dark red color). On the wok hei part, the plate of char keoy teow taste is blanch though. As for the coffee, I personally think their hainam coffee taste nicer than hainam tea. The hainam tea was tasteless on this day, but my 1st visit ordering hainam coffee is good.
