Take a bite in Bites Cafe, Lakefield Sungai Besi - Waffles

27 August 2015 - Passed by Bites Cafe few times but I wasn't too tempted to go into the cafe, probably because the menu was all about signature waffles. Now, waffles have always been categorised as a sweet thing, not as a main course, but lately, the waffle trend came to a fun twist, which waffles are being served as main courses, and some come along with meat and vegetables.




Grill Chicken & Waffle Sandwich at RM15.90 - grilled chicken, sautéed mushroom,, ,melted cheese,and mushroom sauce. In such cases, the best is to eat the sunny-side up, instead of mixing all, as it will be taste creamy and yucky. Surprisingly, it was not a bad choice after all. Grill chicken in mushroom sauce was all tender and juicy. Did my friend combine the chicken and waffle in one fork, and put it in his mouth? No, don't think so.



Eggs Benedict - RM17.90 smoked salmon OR beef bacon, sautéed spinach, Hollandaise sauce, toast, and salad sauce. Well, you never say no to smoked salmon, egg benedicts on toast, will ya?! chef did a good job in cooking this.



Ordered this mushroom pasta similar with aglio olio style. The portion is alright, given that the fresh enoki mushrooms sauteed along the spaghetti. Love the garlic toast to kickstart your meal.

With the twist of the international cuisine, you can't say that The Bites Cafe serve only waffles.



The Mexican RM12.90 breakfast burritos with tortilla, chicken sausage, egg, mushroom, cheese. It was too cheesy for me, given egg are meant to be creamy. Too creamy for me, my mind for burritos/ wraps are always to be served with crunchiness ingredients or grilled meat in it.




This is like the vegetables/ salad waffle! Erm....I shall give a pass, too healthy for me, the combination will be given me the feeling of first to eat all the salad vegetables, only you will be able to bite on the waffles.





Simple mushrooms pasta with beef bacon. I do love watery pasta sauce, hence, this is my love. Again, garlic toast for you to bite on!

Overall, price is okay, but if you go to the main course, probably it is slightly expensive. With the portion and the innovative menu, it is not bad to come to The Bites Cafe and have some 'waffle' and foodie adventure!

They do have lots of desserts and sweetness for you.
