The Container Cafe with Malaysia Culture, The Garage KL @ Ampang

12 March 2016 - A quick update. Went to The Garage KL at night. finally, get into something different, especially the flea market, and the collection I can see in 'Captain Cabin'.

Found out this Lego Collection is really attractive.

Besides the special collection, the artist Amir Effendi Abd Rahim and his team designs earrings, tie pin, scarf pin, pen, bracelets, necklaces, keychains, key holder, and many more. Check his artpiece at:

This is not the usual handicraft artwork you can get elsewhere, probably you can call Amir to discuss something really big for your own private event and occasion.

Here is what's selling in Captain Cabin: lots of Braun Buffel authentic leather collection, toys, displays, some classic antiques, and probably from a junk to your treasure.

And then once again, I didn't manage to get a table just for a drink. Probably the cafe is a pick up for the youngsters with the trendy container cafe. Not sure how's their food and drinks. And boy, it was stuffy. However, a live band will be there to amuse you.

1 Feb 2016 - Have been wanted to look for this so acclaimed the coolest cafe in Ampang - the Garage KL,  the whole cafe built-in a container!

Mind you, it is really tough to find this place, especially the Waze went cuckoo again. Plus, no sign board at all. I wonder why didn't they place a signboard outside, or at the roadside indicating The Garage KL was located at here.

Best to look for Istana Bambu Restaurant in your Waze or Google Map.

From their Facebook page, The Garage KL claimed themselves as a Cafe · a place for Arts & Marketing, and a classic Barber Shop place. Seems like the owner wants to give you the 70s - 80s era, where everything was simple back then. the barber shop was closed when I was there in the late noon, having a break, Mr barber? gotcha!

found out this 'Captain Cabin' bus selling some small souvenirs and children toys. I notice there is a banner stating they have flea market during the weekends as well.

Finally, climbing up to the cafe. Serving pasta and English Coffee like Starbucks however. Was thinking based on the outlook, local food and drinks were to be served. Hmmm....you can see the crowd, yet small kitchen and the cashier counter.

What I like is that they have different mini shops like few blocks in a row. Pretty cool concept.

Unfortunately, we cannot wait too long for the food. We just drop by, and check out the surrounding, seems like just to fulfil my wishes to come to check out the container cafe.
