Stadium Negara Chinese Restaurant, Jalan Yap Kwan Seng - Charcoal Steamboat, Fresh Seafood

My 2018 reviews at this very place: https://jesonestop.blogspot.my/2018/02/restaurant-steamboat-stadium-negara-bbq.html

4 March 2016 - Do you want to eat in Stadium Negara? Must be hairwired like me, relating the place to some stadium or stadium merdeka. However, you can only eat and not doing sport activities in Stadium Negara, a local chinese seafood restaurant in the KL street, giving you super dupe reasonable price.

You can see the local Chinese and the elderly still in power in a normal single bungalow shop with extended floor covered up with rooftop. I can see there are many people in their working attire, expats, travellers, and our Malay friends coming to enjoy the local chinese food. Yes, pork free, my dear Malay friends.

My first attempt in Year 2014. came here for their charcoal steamboat. It might be serving just normal steamboat ingredients, now the wonderful part is that they use charcoal to boil the soup base, instead of the normal gas cooker. Charcoal is meant to make the soup nicer as it takes longer time to cook food, just like the olden days.

Back to the seafood on the table, these are my favourites!

Steamed fresh prawns with egg white. I had never tasted such a wonderful plate of fresh prawns before, when you chew on the prawn meat, and it tastes like the prawns were just caught from the sea from the very same day in the morning. normally, the prawns in general in Malaysia are not fancy, they are slimy and you can't feel the real taste of prawns at all.

Buddhist Yam Delight (Fried Yam Rings with Cashew and Chicken) what I like is that I think they put deep-fried fish or praying mantis to enhance the flavour...Super duper love this.

Others specialities are their BBQ chicken wings, served with the bright red blended spicy yet a little bit of sweetness chilli sauce. Many more seafood that you ought to try.

Looking for the good old Chinese cuisine? Well, at least Stadium Negara has it!
