Ho kow kopitiam - modern coffeeshop with legacy

15 oct 2021 - So uncle ho kow used to have his food stall at the kwai chai hong, which we called lorong panggung.. Where i can translate to cinema instead of demon for that word. Cause kwai chai hong sounds like a hk word instead.

Anyway, the dine in dishes seems taste better than my previous lockdown takeaway😂.

Dry gravy curry and min 4 big pieces of chicken on top the dry noodles.

Classic Nasi lemak with the crispy malay ayam goreng rempah, and of course the typical side continents that must have to represent a typical malaysia nasi lemak.

All handbrewed iced caffeine serve the best kaw kaw coffee upon request. 

Quite a comfortable cosy high air conditioned place with nostalgic props and decoration.

You will see mr ho kow, an elderly, mostly give you a smile and greets you at the ground floor, maintaining the legacy of his father business.

24 Sept 2020 - Everyone go gaga with 'hainam' and 冰室 as the coffeeshop names nowadays. Actually hainam is also the same as cham. Here is the menu, expensive or cheap? I am not sure why there is a hype naming the coffeeshop 冰室 cause the chinese words are more towards Hong Kong style. The neighbors were talking about this new hainam tea coffeeshop at Yulek. So, I went to try this siham sambal petai char keoy teow priced at rm9. What do you think of this combination? Good taste or merely for bring unique and viral? For me, the petai couldnt fit in together with the CKT. BUT, the belacan is so freshly done and very spicy. The cook didnt use the normal belacan paste (dark red color). On the wok hei part, the plate of char keoy teow taste is blanch though. As for the coffee, I personally think their hainam coffee taste nicer than hainam tea. The hainam tea was tasteless on this day, but my 1st visit ordering hainam coffee is good.
