20 Oct 2018 - Then, I have an appointment to Little Glory Learning Centre in Cheras as well. Little Glory principal, Ms Jessie welcomes me for a tour at her school. It is also a very different concept, if to be compared with the old run-down traditional kindy or if you seen too much franchise concept kindy, and you are exploring for something different for your kid's education.
Seeing the sand play and water play activities are simply different than other kindergartens learning programs.
Little Glory Learning Centre is a Montessori Preschool.
Now, when one kindy told you they are using montessori, how do you know if they are using Monstessori?
"Montessori is a method of education that is based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative play. In Montessori classrooms children make creative choices in their learning, while the classroom and the teacher offer age-appropriate activities to guide the process."
Jessie has her own early childhood education certification, and fascinated with Monstessori learning method.
Together with her partner, she develops Thematic play-based learning programme, where they strongly believe children early development shouldn't just stick to keep reading merely from books. your kids brain will be quite tiring also.
Now, let's have a tour.
Jessie purposely builds in a big blackboard so that the kids can conteng or draw on the blackboard freely, instead of writing only on books.
Besides books and blackboard, she enjoys using a projector, probably to run some shadow play or classic movie playing, haha!
This is the mini library where the kids will do their basic readings.
This is like the mini Ikea kitchen set, creative playing area. your kids will do role play like a cook in the kitchen, I think.
OMG, it is my first time seeing an indoor slide for the kids!
Behind there is the tunnel for kids to have fun.
so your kids can play even during the rainy days.
Outside the school, she designs a botanical garden, seeing things in green are good for our eyes!
Jessie emphasizes that they only serve home cooked food for your little ones, unlike others kindy that might get food catering just from outside.
In additional of caring, Jessie is willing to teach and guide special kids with a partnership with other special kids learning centre. Her goal is to let special kids to learn comfortably in a normal learning environment.
Little Glory Cheras also offers Enrichment and daycare, from 18 months - 6 years old.
