Po-Cha Korean BBQ in Ampang - Grilled pork belly, Seafood pancake

3 September 2016 - My sister, Jac has been telling me about this freaking cheap Korean food hidden in Ampang. I am not really a super big fan of Korean food, because most of the food will be spicy ramen, kimchi, or the typical roll rice cake.

Jac was introduced by her friends to come to Po-Cha Korea BBQ.

Don't be shocked. Do you know this is the signboard? Without anyone recommending, I doubt you can even locate the shop!

You won't even know this is a restaurant as you enter. totally hidden, dark, and those typical old shops, make me feel like I am going into the wrong shop, as if they were those wooden houses in Serdang or Kajang that serves home-cooked food.

But then again, You will get to have the private rooms with sliding doors to ensure privacy.

They do have air-conditioned and a normal partition board to separate the rooms. I think my kid can just push down one of the partition and the people in the other room can be screaming out loud with the partition fallen off.

3 women, 1 kid, see how much did we order? wakaka!

  1. The normal korean side dishes
  2. bean soup (too salty, similar to miso soup)
  3. kimchi ramen and rice cake. Kimchi ramen is really spicy and appetizing, but I hate the rice cake, not my favourite at all time.
  4. Lettuce and grilled pork belly
  5. korean seafood pancake. (Giving you real seafood ingredients in it)

Lettuce to be wrapped along with the grilled pork belly. Now, how they grill the pork belly is real good, as it comes out juicy and tender. Wrapping the pork belly with the crunchy lettuce, worth to eat!

We spent about RM 70 for everything, cold water is free flow.

My foodie experience is just average.

Love the place.
Food was ok. Won't say it's fantastic but found the food better than most bigger foodie chains.
The secret looking "Yakuza: style front, narrow corridors and squeezy rooms add to an authentic experience.

yes, well, ya....super casual and almost a homey feel kinda thing...old school I supposed. You are right, bigger portions and probably to those who are not picky, great food satisfaction.
