Ho kow kopitiam - modern coffeeshop with legacy

Image
15 oct 2021 - So uncle ho kow used to have his food stall at the kwai chai hong, which we called lorong panggung.. Where i can translate to cinema instead of demon for that word. Cause kwai chai hong sounds like a hk word instead. Anyway, the dine in dishes seems taste better than my previous lockdown takeaway😂. Dry gravy curry and min 4 big pieces of chicken on top the dry noodles. Classic Nasi lemak with the crispy malay ayam goreng rempah, and of course the typical side continents that must have to represent a typical malaysia nasi lemak. All handbrewed iced caffeine serve the best kaw kaw coffee upon request.  Quite a comfortable cosy high air conditioned place with nostalgic props and decoration. You will see mr ho kow, an elderly, mostly give you a smile and greets you at the ground floor, maintaining the legacy of his father business. www.jesonestop.blogspot.com

Kwai chai hong - Street art culture in Chinatown kl

Image
15 Oct 2021 - As kwai chai hong has many different versions and stories How's the name was created, i think the best matching one is probably the gambling backlanes and dens, instead of the ghostly horror definition, haha. Finally i meet ms porcelain, xiao mei mei, my favourite tiger beer, and within 1 year of revamp, all the hidden and speakeasy bars coming over to offer a different atmosphere during the night time. Guess everyone might be away from changkat and shift to here n ps150 that area. Couldn't really feel the bright yellow wall and blue door represent any historical buildings, but somehow relates back to some european building or probably just to catch your attention for selfie moments as the project leader of kch refurbish the whole lane. So its backlane filled up with speakeasy bar, and probably quite cool. To come check out at night.. While morning hop on to those hustle bustle coffeeshops at the front lane. www.jesonestop.blogspot.com

Bunn choon egg tart, lorong panggung kwai cai hong

Image
15 Oct 2021 - Bunn choon egg tart shop where they focus only om baking pastries and snacks delicacies. Seems there no dine in option. Wanna try on othet delicacies but no kaki. Probably the only shop makes me feel like those outstation old bakery shop. The smell of freshly baked egg tart will definitely pull you in! For me, not much difference on charcoal or the classic type. But the puffy egg tart skin gives you the flaky and crispy. The filling of egg custard is more like creamy thick texture, for eg, if to compared with nam heong coffee shop or thong kee, this will be different. Wow durian tart rm6 🤣 was thinking if secret recipe sell the similar price. Www.jesonestop.blogspot.com

Heng hong tin kee - hainanese food

Image
15 Oct 2021 - After walking for 10000 steps of shopping, shopping is quite a tiring thing to do. But gonna buy the necessities! Half of the shop is owned by the expressoul restobar, so you can order fusion food and either drink like a local or just drink up a mug of beer! The coffee is okay. Surprisingly the noodles they write ramen and it will be better to rename into chinese lamian, cause ramen represent Japanese noodle and it's not hainan style. Long time never had this shredded mushroom porkballs. So far good enough for me, but not i Cant really say it's authentic hainanese or not. Basically many choices and price is okay for an independent restaurant outlet in shopping malls. www.jesonestop.blogspot.com

Doryswim academy - indoor heated pool swimming lessons

Image
16 Oct 2021 - Trying out swimming classes at dory swim academy. Definitely serve all purpose where they have a burger and cooling drinks cafe, a comfortable waiting room with a quiet library reading area, water dispenser, sea (pool) view of watching your kids learning to swim. Heated pool, and all toilets, counter are nicely done. Just the small boy very naughty keep on hugging the teacher instead of learning to swim. 😅🏊🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️ Still in consideration.

Malaya garden - the new way of modern coffeeshop - luxe version

Image
4 Oct 2021 - Only the adventurous come to the kl Chinatown. Tropical forest ambience, displaying all malaysia animal contrast light box. For the moment, it feels like cameron Highland, haha. Welcome to Malaya garden. We ordered the roti canai crepe and the famous curry spaghetti. An upgrade of How's like for a tea boh lemon honey tea looks like. Frothy iced cham as per say. Seems they promote lots of coconut kaya spread, pandan cake and swiss rolls, malaysia butter cake. Local is the new luxury, slightly just a higher price to compared with the casual old town white coffee menu. All. Worth it, the hospitality and the ambience makes it all worth it. The whole back row had a face lifted ever since kwai zai hong project exists. Not sure how's the night scene. The front shop facing the busy road, however, still shows the poorer foreigner walking along street. Some heritage shop preserved, but some just laid back in bad conditions.
