24 April 2020 - So ever since the lockdown, I do feel pity that the food stalls, gerai tepi jalan, foodtrucks cant operate the food takeaway. I do not know why the smaller food business people couldnt sell their food though, guess crowd is a concern. so here's how we do at home. I have tried the wet market in Ampang. everything operates as usual. Price is still manageable. But for someone like me, sometimes I do not know what vegetables I should choose... I was too shy to ask the vegetables sellers what's the names of the vegetables, hence I just select things I am familiar with like old cucumber, white radish, watercress, spinach, choy sum, and left. So I did try my luck at Tesco supermarket but I super hate the long queues. I totally skip my queue at Village Grocer and Aeon. I avoid going in the morning. Tesco do not limit the total headcount going in, but they do check each people temperature and instruct us to sanitize hands. Most shoppers are cautious as they put o

MCO Lockdown diary: 9 things to do

24 April 2020 - Given to say that we started the lockdown since 18 MArch 2020, there was definitely a chaotic and everyone was freak out when there was an outbreak happening due to mass gathering. Many people shout out their frustration, thoughts, and so many uncertainties ahead us. While everyone worried of extended lockdown, we should always stay positive and health is priority and not the money. I am sure business owners have days where you made profit backthen. Just need to hang on tight, tighten your belt, and be smart on the current savings. On the note for employment, companies are trying their best to negotiate and settle their staff on retaining the staff, by reducing salary, deduct annual leaves, and many more. If unemployment increases, we still try to stay positive. For now, HEALTH and staying alive without sickness are the most important thing. So I was shocked when the Day 1 MCO lockdown, all the uncles aunties still take away their food, but sitting in the coff

Sam kee joe wanton mee, shamelin perkasa

13 April 2020 - went to order food again... A clearer picture of the food.  3 April 2020 - I am not a usual fan of wanton mee, because normally I don't like the alkaline water taste in wonton mee, which is applicable to also the yellow mee. So, when one of the mommy Angel specially introduce this wanton noodles at Shamelin Cheras is available for takeaway, I was curious to try. Saw their reviews briefly at Google page/ Facebook. Seems positive review. Heard Sam Kee Joe used to operate it's stall at ICC Pudu, but later on moved to Shamelin. and since I have to meet my family for some family matters, I make a bulk order for a family of 6. As you can see, the food presentation was just directly poured from the plastic bag. No time to place the food nicely, as the hungry people already started the meal. So here are the few thumbs up positive reviews: The wanton wonton noodles texture is springy and there is no alkaline water presevatives smell. the portion is ni

Their cold cut chicken improve and now it also belongs to the lady boss kopitiam owner of kafe cahaya bulan. 8 April 2020 - Went out to have a quick drive through and saw caeley eatery cafe 家好月圆 is open for takeaway. Food stalls available is the famous Yong kee pork noodles and wonton noodles. Their coffee counter makes nice coffee. They bake their own crossiant, classic kaya butter bread toast, and even make their own steamed bun. Char siew, curry, sang yuk bun. Yong kee pork noodles is the only pork noodles that can give me the childhood taste whenever I followed my parents go to market kinda noodle stall. Too bad they are available only for self pick up and I also hope their business will be good. They aren't ready for 3rd party food delivery app yet. With the local operating most of the stall
