Lee Hong kee Restaurant 李雄记冷气酒家 Sungai Buloh - Standing Kampong Chicken

Image
12 Aug 2018 - Travel afar to sungai buloh, just to taste the standing kampong chicken lee Hong kee sdn bhd at sungai buloh.  It has been a well known Chinese restaurant with his chef owner star rated award photo Shown in the restaurant. The restaurant operates for more than 10 years at least.   Roasted kampong Chicken 'standing' in the big hot oven....having it's crispy skin from the outside, the crunchy sound as you bite the chicken skin, but the meat was slightly dry on that day.  Staff says smaller chicken ought to have dry meats texture as they have less fats. Then, salt baked fish was awesome given fresh fish texture with no muddy smell at all. White rice with little soya and sinful pork lard. I thought they cook the rice together with pork lard but it's just a topping.  Well, my first time trying fried lala with bitterguord. The bitterguord taste was absorbed into the small lalas. Pretty interesting. Nor

Blokke cafe - Indoor Playground with Lego concept

11 Aug 2018 - Finally came to blokke cafe at ara damansara, near to kelana Jaya. Famous with logo theme cafe..  free play area Parents will be enjoying the spacious comfortable cafe, while the kids can enjoy the free play area near the cafe, so long you support some drinks or food. Food and drink wise, I ordered most of their recommendations. 1) fettuccine carbornara-chicken. The kids finish it, so I guess it's all time kid's favorite.    2) mixed berry smoothies - too thick as in added probably more cream in it. Too sweet as well. 3) kit Kat crunch - expecting some kit kat blend but turned out a whole creamy white vanilla with two Kit Kat on top. Very sweet again. 4) mushroom soup - not sure what happened, even mushroom soup is sweet as well!  5) Casablanca chicken - didn't realize this is a green spicy sauce on top of grilled chicken. Together with a grilled vegetable cocktail and simple salad. The masala taste chicken was fine. 6) Spa

WURST, MOV Hotel - Homemade sausage, meatballs, pasta

12 August 2018 - Chef Logan has his long chef journey in the f&b industry, and finally his dream come true.  Hidden under the basement of mov hotel in changkat, one couldn't find this place as it's a hidden gem. WURST by its name, stands for German or Austrian sausage. But, Chef Logan made a great modern deli specialising in artisan pork-free sausages, meatballs, pastas and more! We create everything on site and serve only wholesome-hearty food, imported beers and really good times. Given like a chic discotheque signboard was written handmade sausages, it almost feels like a big living room at basement home.    Modern contemporary dining setup, comfortable sofa, imported brewed beers and artisan wines.  Wurst is definitely underrated as chef Logan is always a humble and low profile personality. A tourist will not feel those typical hotel breakfast being the same, while the locals who are sausage lovers will come over to try mo

Foo Jin restaurant at night: Curry Squid and Cantonese fried noodles with garoupa fish

Image
18 Aug 2018 - Vince my photographer friend introduces me to try this special Chinese restaurant (those coffee shop outlet) once I settled my 99 wonderland trip - Foo Jin restaurant. Exceptional food, they upgrade their signature 广福 fried ying yong with fresh garoupa fish (big slices) and spicy ginger freshness. This kinda Chinese shop (night) where coffee shop runs the daytime business always got their uniqueness, for Eg: the sizzling curry big squid, where gravy aromatic curry with coconut/milk cooked together with springy fresh squids. Usually, Squids aren't my favorite because of blanch taste or scared to choke, but because their squids are real fresh, and nice to chew.    Moderate for Hokkien noodles, crunchy French beans stir fried with minced meat.
