Ban mee by mother porridge

21 Dec 2017 - Came here to have a quick lunch. Mother porridge is famous for porridge of course, so does their price! Not sure if people really come here for a good expensive porridge, costs at least RM10 and above.

Recommended by Veggee after our social media brainstorming on the local Malaysian homemade business ecosystem concept.She recommends me to try their pan mee.



I would say their ban mee flour texture was okay, smooth and fair (/like baby face texture) LOL.

But there is no anchovies broth or long hours cooking method done in the soup. Too much pepper and I believe, either salt and ajinamoto. A real pan mee, you need to have a real anchovies broth to make it happens.


If ban mee, my top preferred choice will the Taman Midah food street by far.

24 Sept 2020 - Everyone go gaga with 'hainam' and 冰室 as the coffeeshop names nowadays. Actually hainam is also the same as cham. Here is the menu, expensive or cheap? I am not sure why there is a hype naming the coffeeshop 冰室 cause the chinese words are more towards Hong Kong style. The neighbors were talking about this new hainam tea coffeeshop at Yulek. So, I went to try this siham sambal petai char keoy teow priced at rm9. What do you think of this combination? Good taste or merely for bring unique and viral? For me, the petai couldnt fit in together with the CKT. BUT, the belacan is so freshly done and very spicy. The cook didnt use the normal belacan paste (dark red color). On the wok hei part, the plate of char keoy teow taste is blanch though. As for the coffee, I personally think their hainam coffee taste nicer than hainam tea. The hainam tea was tasteless on this day, but my 1st visit ordering hainam coffee is good.
