Madam Kwan klcc - Food culture shock

Image
21 Jan 2018 - Flashed back and I recalled that my last stop at Madam Kwan (different branch) was back in 2016. Seems there is not much choices of nice food at KLCC. Given the full crowd over the weekends. I decided to stop by Madam Kwan KLCC for a shot. The whole menu is full of Madam Kwan passion, her story and also her signature. I remembered the teh tarik was so sweet till lost the taste of the real milk tea. But, I give a try to order again. Teh tarik is still that sweet, adding on the sweet biscuit next to it. Two foreigner staffs which approach me for food order, doesn't know what I am saying, be it English or Malay. I have requested for kurang manis, but the sweetness is crazy. I think I will get diabetic in a short period of time, if I drink the same teh tarik everyday. Oh ya, could't taste the tea at all :( Has this dumpling wonton mee. This was okay, especially for my kids, as children shouldn't take too much salt. The dumplings are fresh, a

Image
22 Jan 2018 - Aquaria klcc, showing you marine animals from Malaysia and around the world. Written 5000 kinds in 60000 sqft, but we finish the tour within 1.5 hours. Manage to see lots of animals from deep forest, the coast, river jungle, fresh water fishes. Oh I see, so your name is scorpion fish? lionfish? We don't know how to respond when the kids ask us: "Why it doesn't look like lion?" Of course I and my kid can recognize only the basic naming: fish, eel, shark, frog, jelly fish, stingray, coral, seahorse. Was surprised my kid name out yellow tang, blue tang, puffer fish (recognise from YouTube Finding Nemo cartoon). The underworld ocean is probably the brightest area and also top most favourite area where people take photos. automated walking elevator, where you can witness so many ocean sea animals swimming across your head and vision. The best is when you can see the dangerous shark in the closest view, since it

17 Jan 2018 - This is a hidden curry noodles shop - mee kari fang Hong. The last and the best curry noodles I had was the food stall jalan alor opposite KFC. Now, this is so near me, for crying out loud. Thick grave curry broth, foo chuk, curry chicken, bean sprout, keoy teow. What amiss is probably the cockles. And yeah, they forgot to pass me belacan with green lime half slices. Still, they are on par with a great curry noodles. They also say their Wonton mee is awesome. You know, they are so hidden till I can't find their geotag, wonder how they survive. Open morning till 4pm.   Mostly the local neighbors and elderly enjoy their breakfast session at here. 27 Jan 2018 -  2nd visit to pistachio cafe, kids-friendly cafe at Cheras. A different experience this time round. Tried the 上汤啦啦ginger garlic chilli clams spaghetti, as if this should be our new version of confinement food! However, too much garlic for me. Very nice kids meatball bolognese spaghetti with vitagen as a kid meal package and in an airplane platter with careful thoughts of fork that your kids can get hold of the pasta! Image
14 Jan 2018 - First time coming to icc pudu market, crazy crowd but clean market...easy parking, lift accessibility is good. We avoid the huge crowd at ah Weng koh, so we went to individual food stalls. G-56 wantan noodles and pork ball noodles, portion is too small. Fried onions cover the whole bowl of pork noodles. Taste wise good old taste. G-69 ah fook Chee cheong fun. Finally I manage to taste back the childhood Chee cheong fun texture. Chee cheong fun with sesame oil and light curry sauce poured like rain on top of Chee cheong fun.    G-64 Foo tai sang or sang kee coffee rm2.50. Don't play play, uncle offers honest bee delivery service.  Very focus making each glass of hai nam coffee, coffee filter, blend the coffee in blender for seconds, and a spoon of coffee tasting for QC.  Very stressful look but positive motivation. Don't dare to order the toasted bread and half boiled egg seeing him so busy. But anyway, we have a
