Asean Young Entrepreneurs Carnival (AYEC) Exhibition 2016

29 July 2016 - I was slightly confused when I was notified that there will be this the first ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Carnival in Kuala Lumpur on the 29-30 July 2016, organised by Malaysian Association of ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs - MAAYE. Most probably they are linked to each other - MAAYE, AYEC, and MATRADE.




There were 2 halls for me to visit this time round in AYEC exhibition.



You can see the first hall area has a very simple set up, for the simple speaker event. Didn't see any event program in details.



Most of the exhibitors in Hall B are the local food producer, or mostly selling perfumes, malay clothings, and so forth.





I do found Google Malaysia came to on board to promote their Adwords Express, a faster way for the advertise to buy ads online.





Went for a quick break and found this CSR-friendly approach of Autism Cafe Project, a food truck run by the autistic children's parents, giving a reason for the autistic children another reason to be positive in their lifestyle.





I talked to one of the parents who is handling the project. He told me unfortunately in Malaysia, it is a far reach out to help those autistic children, and parents themselves had stay strong together, especially in finding other ways to help out their children, with stronger spirit and more positive emotional support.

Besides money donation in appreciation, a simple food catering for your occasion would be good...perhaps, just facebook message them and see how to help each other:






In between Hall A and B, there was some robotic innovation things displayed.

Now, I went to check out Hall A - and it turned out to be a total different image from Hall B area,




Coming to Hall A, the booth set-up looks more classy, with more lightings, and proper set-up. Most of the booth at here are startups, from MAGIC - Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre.

Also got to know that as long as you are MATRADE members, you entitled for a free booth as well. Ah, no wonder the booth set-up are less presentable as it seems.

Overall, I can feel that lots of Malaysia entreprenuers and startups start to make their dreams come true, but whether it is a demand in the market, or just base on living on your dreams to create the platform or business that you always want, question mark?

Is the business sustainable? Will your business evolve along, when there is more copycats competitors follow your business schemes? Will the world in the need of your business? Need to pitch your business ideas to funding campaign? How long can the funding last after you have done the report to the funders?

Lots of questions and challenges thrown to you, but it is good that MAAYE creates such exhibition to attract potential clients or business, but I believe if we want to go as far ahead to international level, the exhibition need a lot of improvement on their set-up and how it was being promoted via marketing.

ChinaTown Dessert 糖仁街 in Pandan Indah - Mango desserts, double boiled dessert, curry chicken

15 Aug 2016 - I was craving for Chinese sweet dessert, but those Chinese sweet desserts in night market and those franchisee outlets probably doesn't really fascinate me...So I googled and found the nearest local Chinese sweet dessert in Cheras - ChinaTown Dessert 糖仁街 in Pandan Indah.





Well, China Town Dessert doesn't only offer the sweet desserts! They also offer lots of hot food and fried snack, basically a cafe I would say.




As one favors for the Durian Mango Mixed Sago Lo at RM 8.90, while I am aiming for the hot glutinous rice ball in ginger soup RM 6.80. Well, those who like durian can feel 1 whole pc of durian flesh mixed along with the mango, just like ice-ice baby, while I do not need to wait till DongZhi Festival to enjoy this own-made big sized glutinous rice ball with fillings inside. The ginger soup is really super hot and spicy, with an ease to relieve your 'wind' in the body or digestion problem.





The staff introduces us their signature dry curry chicken rice, but we choose their handmade noodles instead. No preservative on the springy noodles, and given a wonderful curry chicken and some side vegetables, guess how much will this cost? RM 8.90 only!




Always feel that Taiwan snowflake ice is better than those blended sago lo/ sai mai lo...soft and fair like my skin (joking), therefore I ordered this matcha snowflake ice mixed with red bean. RM 8.80. However, bit sweet for me.


*After 1-2 weeks, and this time we hunt China Town Dessert for 2nd round. This time, I bring more people to help out to order more food, so that we can share the meal, but I gonna treat them, LOL.




Ordered their original tau fu fah RM 4. Soft and smooth texture in the hot ginger soup again.

Double boiled hasma with red dates and aloe vera RM 12.50. Well, double boil made this sweet dessert even more nutritious for you. FYI, Hasma (Harsmar, Hashima) is a Chinese and widely Central Asian dessert ingredient made from the dried fatty tissue found near the fallopian tubes of true frogs, typically the Asiatic Grass Frog (Rana chensinensis). Hasma is a luxurious soup, just like bird nests, and Chinese believe that Hasma is good to treat respiratory symptoms, stomach ulcers and used to improve the look of skin.




Next, we ordered their black glutinous rice hot dessert soup RM 5.30, and glutinous rice in red bean soup RM 7.50. Both are a big let down for me, as their dessert water base is as thick as if they put lots of starches in it. To boil such desserts soup, especially we know it when we make this at home, it can never be so starchy unless you put lots of potato/ corn starch in it.

My foodie experience: Go for their signature mango desserts, double boiled, and pure dessert soup base. Those that are with the starches will be your last choice if you crave for it. As for their hot food and snack, overall it is very nice and delicious. Reasonable and affordable price, given such indoor air-conditioned environment.

Janova Banana Leaf - banana leaf rice, special upside down coffee

Liitha asked me to come to Janova Banana Leaf in PJ...Hmmm, rarely heard there is nice banana leaf in PJ though, as most of them are available in Bangsar and Brickfield area.




I ordered their signature hot coffee. At first, the hot coffee was in their stainless steel cup, placing upside down inside a bowl. Didn't know what to do with it, I remove the cup, and the coffee was poured into the bowl. And then, I was thinking, huh, drinking the coffee using a bowl? And then the staff saw my puzzled look, he demonstrates by pouring the coffee back to the bowl. Hmm...wonder why such fuss, but certainly it is interesting!



Here comes the authentic indian banana leaves rice! Given you 3 choices vegetables, papadam, yogurt lassi, sour soup, and many more. But somehow or rather, I still miss the banana leaf rice at Sri Nirwana Maju.





Liitha was not feeling that well, so she ordered the puttu, that comes along with a banana? Hmm, although I feel puttu and putu mayam taste the same, Liitha says both are different type of dish.




Last was my favourite...I have always enjoy eating cucur sayur rangup (crunchy vegetables fritters in English) , fried flour with mixed of vegetables. crunchy and delicious...with lots of different vegetables, sweet onions, turmeric leaves and turmeric powder enhance the flavour.

They don't allow free refill of vegetables for your info.

Lam Mee Ya 淋面屋 @ Paradigm Mall

6 Aug 2016 - Probably you will be thinking most food in shopping centres in Klang Valley are basically more or less the same, nothing as tasty as our hawker food. I was in Paradigm Mall after the MIMMA show, and looking for something different, despite the typical Old Town white coffee or the general local food.

Passed by this Lam Mee Ya. Wow, didn't know lam mee can be that famous, to venture into the shopping outlets business.





As you can see, the wallpaper is fully covered with its menu. It's also tell you what ingredients that you be expecting to have when you order a bowl of lam mee at here.





Besides their signature lam mee, they also prepare normal chinese dishes, such as steamed minced pork, fried tofu, pork leg vinegar, asam seafood, yellow ginger wine egg, sweet and sour pork, and many more.





Normally, it is nice to eat lam mee with the normal yellow noodles. However, I switch it to yee mee, because I hate eating yellow noodles. Tricky part when it comes to lam mee, is that the noodles would expand as noodles will absorb the gravy thick soup fast. However, not in lam mee ya. Have been enjoying their bowl of lam mee, with few meat varieities, such as chicken, pork, and prawns. vegetables and others garnishing ingredients are such as: bean sprout, fried onion, chicken cabbage, and spring onion.

With their spicy belacan, it was marvellous to have this bowl of lam mee. This is the nicest lam mee I had tried so far.

Do come and surprise yourself if you like lam mee with its thick soup base, or else, try order their other chinese dishes (but I don't know how is the taste).

Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts Semi Finals 2016

6 Aug 2016 - Got to know that a passionate YK Tang, MIMMA Offical Head photographer, as he invited me to MIMMA. Knowing nothing about mixed martial art, basically I would be a spectator instead.

Things you need to know about MIMMA:

Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts (MIMMA) is the first largest All-Malaysian Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Amateur Tournament in Malaysia.

MIMMA aims to nurture and grow local talents from the MMA scene by preparing a platform for amateurs to contend and put their highly honed skills and countless hours of dedicated training to the test.

The tournament consists of 7 different weight classes which are Flyweight, Bantamweight, Featherweight, Lightweight, Welterweight, Middleweight and Heavyweight. There are also female category and also foreign pride category (Non-Malaysian).
Are you a fighter? Supporter? Let's the champion to be upon to those who bear all the pain and to be honored with victory.

The fighting championship will be open to all Malaysian citizens who are 18 years old and above.








You can see that some MMA fans are busy playing online games while the MMA fighters were taking a break.



Here comes the spectator and also fans who are waiting patiently for the show to start.




This time, I will be able to witness live MIMMA featherweight category - Mohd Ridzuan B. Dahari (Selangor) vs Cheah Wen Khyn (KL)







And the game starts!











You can see that Mohd Ridzuan B. Dahari is in full blow ready to knock down Cheah, but Cheah at his very best to defend himself. Watching the live show, makes my body tickling, making the gesture of hitting someone in the air as they take action in the ring.



Approximately for 3 rounds, Cheah locked Ridzuan on the floor, trying to hit Ridzuan.




And the winner is Cheah! Congratulations!

It was a fun experience indeed. It really does motivate people to join mixed martial art, in terms of health, skills, and motivation.

Take up the world's spiciest instant noodle - Spicy Korean Noodle Sam Yang

22 July 2016 - So I heard it, after the Penang white curry laksa (which didn't impress me at all), I heard the rumor has it (took Adele's song title) - the legendary spiciest Korean noodle has arrived in KL.

And from the ears and mouth and even instagram, unfortunately, I didn't know the pronunciation of the Korean noodles. Now, how would i know I bought the authentic spicy Korean noodles - Sam Yang?

Until one day, I walked into a Chinese medicine shop and there it was, display at the front entrance. I asked the shopkeeper is this is the legendary spiciest Korean noodle in the world, she replied YES!





So finally I take you up as a challenge, huh? Priced at RM 20 for 5 big packs.



Waiting for my instant noodles to be cooked, here is the super dark soy sauce and the sesame seeds from the packaging.




Complete the dry noodles 'masterpiece'. Guess what? First bite, tasty...and then when it goes down to the tongue, extremely spicy! and reaching the throat, it was like my throat is on fire!

Couldn't finish even half of the plate...I have to rest for like 10 minutes, drink lots of cold water, only then continue the other half.

Stomach has been on fire for one whole day after that, not to mention the next day going to the toilet was...erm...need me to describe further? how should I say, toilet explosion? LOL.

Overall, Sam Yang Korean noodles is really spicy yet flavorful, luckily the sesame seeds being in more flavors. But then again, too spicy and oily as you can see from the plate.

So, are you game for Sam Yang spicy Korean noodles? Recognise the packaging and buy it, see how it rocks your buttock and stomach, LOL.


9888 Chinese Restaurant 发记海鲜楼 - Salted Yolk Pumpkin and Steamed Fish

21 Aug 2016 - 9888 restaurant in Cheras has always been our family gathering for special occasions, as the food is presentable, fairly delicious, and reasonable price.

But yet again, this is always my favourite - fried yam cake with chicken, dried chillies, and vegetables fillings.





The so-called longevity noodles, where most Chinese will order for birthday celebration. AS you can see the gravy sauces seem full of starches instead.




always order this iconic signature salted yolk fried pumpkin. never fail to impress me. crispy skin, the smell of salted yolk, and the hot pumpkin flesh.



steam fish. For their cooking style, a simple soya sauce to complete the presentation. Basically, fish is all about freshness.




The classic qing long vegetables 青龙菜 comes along with the fresh enoki mushrooms, a healthy stir-fry style is all you need for vegetables and mushrooms.

"Fine Days With Liselle Tea"- The launch of Liselle Tea in Klang South





11 Sept 2016 - Rarely I will join launching event, with all my busy family time, and with my baby with me during the weekends. But as good as it seems, Mr Luk, the event organizer, invited me over this very interesting event - Fine Days with Liselle Tea.

Well, how do you describe the form of art? I can see that in Lisa Lee illustration - she created a fruitful cute character for her art - Liselle.




Words to describe Liselle are - her bubbly personality, life full of dreams and a total charm. When Liselle is 'born', her character in the form of art, can be well diversified into the art of painting, illustration, food, drinks, fashion and much more. As Liselle grows, she is a brand, a celebrity, a new identity, a characteristic art.





Together with the launching of Liselle Tea in Klang South (but I don't know why only in Klang South), the organizer has partner up with other Klang entrepreneurs to create new sparks in local art scenes together.

Cold Pasta Jasmine Tea. I am not too sure if the jasmine tea leaves have been blend into the sauce or it has been served as the garnishing, but the creamy sauce could have overcome the light tea scent. Overall, it was all good.




Smoked salmon with lychee black tea. Yes, this is pretty smokey enough, as I smelled the rock is cooking...Just joking. Again, I was 'searching' for the lychee black tea leaves, LOL. Probably to be marinated along with the salmon as the chef grill the salmon? However, it is important to have the blend and balancing of the whole food presentation, taste and texture.





Cold prawn with jasmine green tea - Someone asked me how should they eat this? I told them just eat it like the china's xiao long bao, but the prawn was bigger than the usual size. I decided to first drink the jasmine tea soup, and yes finally, I able to taste the sweet and highly fragrant jasmine green tea in the soup, followed by two bites off to finish the prawn.

Well, not to mentioned, some of the bloggers get excited watching the 'ice-berg bubble' for the prawn dish presentation!





Now, here comes the surprise, as I am honored to be abe to taste this smoked lamb to be grilled along with in-house Rare Art Koffee's own coffee beans. Well, do you think it was bitter just because it was cook along with coffee? No actually, sweet, juicy, tender grilled lamb, perfectly blended together with the aromatic coffee instead.




Finally, here comes the dessert. Rose tea infused with rolled apple pie. You can how beautiful the apple pie can be in rose petal form, as you get to taste the rolled apple pie sweetly, with cooked apple fillings, feeling so relaxing as if you really enjoy eating it, forgetting the busy hectic city life.




Liselle grows up to be someone so charismatic, inspiring, joyful, and happy. With her story appeared in the illustration art masterpieces, I was thinking, I was kinda envy Liselle, as I have the typical same old day everyday. May I have the same adventurous moments just like Liselle one day!
