The Classic Fine Italian Dining in Sassorosso at Lorong Yap Kwan Seng

8 May 2016 - A Sunday treat and while everyone is celebrating Mother's Day, it was our wedding anniversary actually. It has been so long ever since I can dress up proper and enjoy a really good dining moment with husband, but well, family with kids, that's the life. So called only get to have this kinda meal once a year, want to cried hearing it. I want such moment more and more!

Anyway, our baby was sick, and we were almost thought of canceling the luncheon in Sassorosso. Baby took some fever medicine temporary and there is not many clinics were opened on Sunday, not to mention specialist only for children.

Anyway, baby dozed off when we arrived in Sassorosso, so it's a good thing we can have our quiet lunch together!

The restaurant owner, Chef Giovanni Koromilas is my husband good friend as well. After a quick drink at the bar, we went to have a seat in the restaurant area. You get to see Chef Giovanni at all heart operating his own restaurant, attending calls as his best, checking and make sure the diners were all good with the food, coming in out, some ice-breaking session with his customers.

Nice ambiance, and quiet atmosphere with cozy music, making us feeling so relax and enjoyable having our meal here.

Staffs at there were all well-dressed and well mannered.






So, happy wedding anniversary!




I was pampered with Jumbo Tiger Prawns Spaghetti Aglio & Olio, served with imported slices fish eggs! you must be wondering, fish caviar at such form? Simply different!

So tasty that I could finish up the whole plate of the spaghetti.



Pan-fried cod fish (if not mistaken), served with special sauce, and lots of vegetables and mushrooms. Light still flavorful, getting to eat such a fresh fish meat!



And of course, Sassorosso has lots of wine choices in the house. White wine pairing with seafood lunch, perfecto!

And Sassorosso made my wonderful day! We were so full and it was indeed a great lunch, with my stomach saying satisfaction. Oops, baby woke up the moment we finished our meal!

24 Sept 2020 - Everyone go gaga with 'hainam' and 冰室 as the coffeeshop names nowadays. Actually hainam is also the same as cham. Here is the menu, expensive or cheap? I am not sure why there is a hype naming the coffeeshop 冰室 cause the chinese words are more towards Hong Kong style. The neighbors were talking about this new hainam tea coffeeshop at Yulek. So, I went to try this siham sambal petai char keoy teow priced at rm9. What do you think of this combination? Good taste or merely for bring unique and viral? For me, the petai couldnt fit in together with the CKT. BUT, the belacan is so freshly done and very spicy. The cook didnt use the normal belacan paste (dark red color). On the wok hei part, the plate of char keoy teow taste is blanch though. As for the coffee, I personally think their hainam coffee taste nicer than hainam tea. The hainam tea was tasteless on this day, but my 1st visit ordering hainam coffee is good.
