Suki Jezz in Brisbane, Australia - Day 4 in Anzac Day, City View, and Queen Street Mall

25 April 2016 - I was honored to be in Brisbane to watch Anzac Day parade this day. Anzac Day goes beyond the anniversary of the landing on Gallipoli in 1915. It is the day on which we remember all Australians who served and died in war as well as honoring returned servicemen and women.

It was indeed a very 'serious' holiday as most of the restaurants closed for half day till the parade is done.

We walked down to the street and witness the Anzac parade.

You can see most of the people will put on their badges, or else, probably a small pin on their upper chest on their clothes to commemorate Anzac Day.

I was so touched when I saw the servicemen waved their hands to us, as the crowd clapped their hands honoring them as they were in the parade. I get to see which army in which year of war the veterans were in.

When we checked into Ibis Hotel in Brisbane, we asked for where can we have our dinner. It was 8:40pm Sunday night. Sunday night and most kitchen closed at 9pm, darn!

We walked down to Queen Street Mall, and hope to get some good food.

Finally, Jimmy's on the Mall welcomed us as the kitchen still operate at that time. I am surprised this restaurant opens 24/7 though as I browsed through its website.

We choose to go to the upper floor, so that we can have a quick look in the city night view and open-air covered area.

Noor cannot leave without garlic bread, so there you go. Well, for me, garlic cheese bread is pretty good everywhere.

It seems Australia is always famous with Fish and chips, beer battered atlantic cod, chips, turkish salad, lemon, tartare Aussie 28. Well, the secret of deep frying fish and chips are their coating flour, and their tartare sauce. For me, their fish and chips are all crispy and nice.

Gamberoni pizza - prawns, garlic, mozzarella, tomato, basil, olive oil, Aussie 25. Well, yes, would recommend this as well. fresh prawns served on the pizza!

Crispy skin chicken (gf) tuffled mash, green beans, assorted mushrooms, jus, aussie 34. I am surprised this crispy skin chicken taste so juicy and soft meat, whilst it stays crispy and slightly salty outside. It takes long hour to braised soft tender meat, no? Anyway, must try this. Never had such a nice poultry for years.

Well, the good thing about Queen Street Mall, is that you get the chance to shop for some real good souvenirs and cheap clothes during the day. I did bought some handmade soap, clothes for my mama, and some souvenirs during the day.

On Anzac Day, we were quite run out of luck searching for breakfast, even Ibis itself do not have breakfast on that day, because it is a public holiday.

Took a quick bite of sandwich, and end up going to convenient store to get some sandwiches. And, I was like, I bought instant noodle cup as I was craving for it. Haha, I should store some instant noodles cup when I travel around the world.

This is Brisbane City Hall, the seat of the Brisbane City Council. It is located adjacent to King George Square, where the rectangular City Hall has its main entrance. I do noticed there is some private or wedding functions when we passed by last night.

This is how I wear in Brisbane. You can see the weather difference between Brisbane and Melbourne! I Melbourne, I had to wear autumn clothes, and here, sunshine it is!

Brisbane, capital of Queensland, is a big, modern city set on the Brisbane River.

And although Brisbane has free wifi within the city, I was trying hard but still hardly access into the free WIFI.
