RGB Coffee at the Bean Hive - Coffee Micro-Roastery and creative vegetarian food

Image
16 April 2016 - Well, the first word that I always can think of when someone mention about RGB is that - the cafe serves vegetarian, healthy choices of food. Probably others might give just some twist about the cafe. Here's why. I need to meet my girlfriend, Lynn, as she asked me to purchase some eco products from Melaleuca, well the powerful detergent to protect the white uniform of her kid, Ivan. Well, some housewife gathering, huh? Well, this is us, full-time busy mama, huh? So she asks me where to meet up in KL. "Any nice cafe?" "well, I heard of this RGB cafe, let's try to meet up at there." RGB stands for Rather Good Beans. Alright, GPS does bring me to the right place, just that I wasn't sure it's the cafe. Wonder why? Here's why. Can't see the signboard till you reach their entrance. There's no signboard outside, as far as I can remember. You can see it is managed most probably by a closed family business, staff bein

Sunday Vegetarian Buffet Brunch @ The Gange Cafe, Bangsar

Image
17 April 2016 - It was a lazy hot Sunday, and I decided that since I and baby were free, I went to join the Meet Up event, where I have been disappeared since 1 year ago. The KL Vegans and Vegetarians propose to have a meetup in The Gange Cafe in Bangsar, and I can't wait to try the Vegetarian Gujarati Cuisine in Bangsar. So I reach at 1pm, pushing the stroller with my baby sleeping in it, into the limited space provided in the shop. We are like squeezing ourselves sitting as our chairs are just against each other. whoever sitting inside, she or he has to be thin enough to make way through to reach out for the food. I was asking my girl friend, Lyaan how was the food since she arrived earlier. "So exotic!" she replied. So I started off with the appetizer section, took Khandi aka yellow chee cheong fun India style, the deep fried Dal Vada and Manchurian, and of course curry puffs. thumbs up as I love the Manchurian and Dal Vada; the mini curry puff was with little fillings

Special function Chinese meal courses @ Marco Polo Restaurant 富臨門酒家 in Wisma Lim Foo Yong

9 April 2016 - I remembered when I was young, we always go for proper chinese restaurant for dimsum and the main dishes. With the bad economy arising over the years, chinese restaurant no longer serve the same cuisine like what they used to have. some standard had dropped like really super low quality, where I suspected they even not hiring local chinese chefs, or proper chefs who know how to cook fine chinese cuisine. However in Marco Polo, it is a different story. They maintain the old Chinese cuisine with fantastic story behind. I was here for my uncle's birthday celebration, as he will always have the dinner function at Marco Polo Restaurant, given the long queue of countless elderly singing karaoke, and the grandchildren will be on stage to perform some K-pop and singing to impress the audience and my uncle. Marco Polo Restaurant is famous for their Peking Duck and Dim Sum. They definitely give you their best service in Chinese cuisine. The spacious area where you can always

Eat Ban Mee anytime at Noodle Shack 面粉居

9 April 2016 - I was in between the tea time and dinner time looking for some snack to munch on, as I have a dinner function to attend to that night. Passed by Noodle Shack at Avenue K, and this was my second stop. As I couldn't recall whether my previous food experience was a good or bad one, I decided to stop by and try again. It was a good food craving as I have not been eating pan mee for quite some time. As you can see, they welcome the Muslim friends, as they do not serve pork and there is no added MSG in their food. (see the signboard at their kitchen area). Do you remember you used to have brown cover notebook during your primary school? Good for you, you get to see their menu in such cool notebook, probably want to link you back to your childhood moment. I order their traditional dried pan mee RM 10.90, choosing thin long pan mee with blend thick soy sauce, to be served with fried anchovy, fried beancurd sheet, minced chicken, mushrooms, and fungus. Carbo,

14 April 2016 - I was craving for coffee and cake, just something sweet. Trying to search for cafe nearby Cheras or Ampang at 8pm, and I remembered there is an instagrammer tag herself enjoying coffee in T Garden Pandan Indah. So what i do next was, search for T Garden in Google Map, and off I went. The first impression when I reached T Garden is that, wow spacious, modern, bright light of their signboard to make sure you didn't miss out the place. As the exterior definitely look like a modern cafe place...it is written 'the Coffee Shop'...hmmm...why not 'Cafe', but 'The Coffee Shop'? Coffee shop reminds me of the local coffee shop suddenly. Dimmed light, classic table, steel chairs, glass partition with lots of coffee typography poster, flowers in glass display, and a bunch of staff stand near the kitchen and bar tender area. The owner hire local staff and some foreigners. Told my date - my baby, to stay calm and enjoy coffee, but guess he
