Suki Jezz conception and pregnancy tips

Planning to conceive? Family planning?

Here is what you gonna do:
  1. If you are still breastfeeding, you need to stop if you are planning your next child. One of the reason is that your hormone imbalance, thus causing irregular period to plan for your next child. You may apply some coffee or bitter gourd on your nipple so that you baby will stop sucking your breasts. You need your regular menstrual period to be accurate in order to plan for your next baby.
  2. You (the woman) can start taking folic acid the moment you and your husband decide to start your family planning and when you want to get pregnant. Although folic acid is meant can help prevent birth defects of your baby's brain and spinal cord, there is research shows that folic acid can help to increase fertility too! *Psst, I was trying to conceive for 4 months n a roll without folic acid, so I went to seek my gynae advice, and after 2 weeks I took the folic acid, and yes, I am pregnant!
  3. If you are still having irregular period, you will need to take Ovulation medicine to regulate your period back.
  4. If you are in the midst of planning to get pregnant, you are allowed to do anything you like for the first 9 days from the day you start your period. this means, you can do any hair color treatment, chemical reaction such as face mask, drinks alcohol, etc. After the 9 days, you need to be a good girl, by not doing any chemical mask treatment, hair coloring, or drinks till sober.
  5. Get to know your fertile period, higher chances to get pregnant. from the 1st day of your period, 12th - 16 days are the most fertile period. for eg, if your period is on Day 1, Day 12- 16 are your most fertile day. Here are some fun facts if you want a boy or a girl:

You're more likely to conceive a boy if...

  • You have sex on the day of ovulation, as male sperm are thought to swim faster and reach the egg first.
  • You reach orgasm before your partner, as this releases an alkaline fluid, thought to be more male-sperm friendly than the vagina's natural acidity.
  • You have deep penetration during sex, such as from behind (doggie-style).
  • Your partner has a high sperm count. This is because male sperm are not as strong as female sperm, and so the higher the count, the more chance there is of a male sperm reaching the egg first.
  • You avoid sex for a week before ovulation and then only have sex once on ovulation day, to keep the sperm count high.
  • Your partner keeps his genitals cool by wearing boxer shorts and loose-fitting trousers.
  • You eat salty food. salty food are such as: plenty of meat, fish, white flour, pasta, fresh fruit, certain vegetables, but avoid milk and dairy products, such as yogurt and cheese, nuts, chocolate, shellfish and wholemeal bread.
You're more likely to conceive a girl if...
  • You have sex earlier on in your cycle, a few days before your day of ovulation. This is because female sperm are thought to be stronger and therefore last longer than male sperm, who will die off before reaching the egg.
  • Your partner reaches orgasm before you.
  • You have sex frequently to lower your partner's sperm count, and so increase the chances of the female sperm reaching the egg first.
  • You keep penetration shallow.
  • You stop having unprotected sex four to five days before ovulation, to minimize the chances of the male sperm reaching the egg first.
  • Your partner keeps his genitals warm by wearing close-fitting underwear and tight trousers (although this isn't likely to do his general fertility any good!)
  • You put a wooden spoon under your bed and a pink ribbon under your pillow. (I gonna try this!)
  • You eat less salty food. You drink plenty of milk and eat dairy products such as cheese and yoghurt, unsalted foods, rice, pasta, certain vegetables, mineral water, limited amounts of meat and potatoes, wine and beer, fresh fruit, spinach, tomatoes and mushrooms, chocolate, coffee and tea.

But then, again, if you are really trying hard to get a baby, pretty much don't stick to any of the rules as per above. Most important is, you are able to conceive a baby successfully.

Okay, let me try to recap what did my gynae told me when I confirmed that I was pregnant:

  • Do not eat processed food or raw food
  • No smoking, caffeine or alcohol
  • No 'cooling' food
  • It is okay to drink ice or cold water
  • Do not eat too much spicy food - I tried eating and end up heart beat increase.
  • Eat healthy food - more greens and fruits, but take note on raw vegetables, such as salad, as it might cause stomach pain.
  • No jumping or aggressive sports, walk fast in the park or yoga pregnancy or pregnancy exercises are okay.
  • Don't apply 'Feng You' oil  - the chinese medicated oil that normally you apply if you are having headache or stomach wind. Probably because it is a medication oil and contains some chemical elements.
  • Your friends and relative will ask you to drink more soya bean, so that your baby will have fair skin. I gonna tell you, DON'T over drink soya bean too much. I end up having tremendous leg cramp after drinking soya for only 2 times a week. Once I took less soya bean, I do not get my muscle cramp. I believe this is probably too much acid or it cause 'wind'.

From 32 weeks and above, how to detect contraction/ signs of labor:

  • Braxton-Hicks contractions - Some mommies said it is a continuous pain that feels like someone poking a huge needle on your stomach non-stop, like a music beat. If contractions come regularly every 10 minutes or even less, inform your doctor/ nurse immediately. This is the shortest period of time for you to deliver the baby.
  • Mucus/ blood - when you detect blood stain or mucus in your panties.
  • Baby must kick your belly more than 10 times in a day (12 hours); if less than 10 kicks, admit to hospital for check up immediately.
